  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Removed from 40-man

The Dodgers sent Feyereisen outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Feyereisen was optioned to Triple-A on June 21 after posting an 8.18 ERA in 11 innings with the big-league club, and he has now officially lost his 40-man spot to Matt Gage. The 31-year-old Feyereisen hasn't found much success in the minors this season either (6.75 ERA in 18.2 innings), so a return to the big leagues in 2024 doesn't seem likely given Los Angeles' bullpen depth.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Optioned to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Feyereisen to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday. The move comes with right-hander Landon Knack being recalled ahead of his start against the Angels on Friday. Feyereisen was called up by the Dodgers on Sunday, and in his one appearance Monday against the Rockies, he gave up four runs on four hits while striking out one over two innings. Over his 10 major-league outings this season, Feyereisen has an 8.18 ERA and 1.45 WHIP across 11 innings.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Back in big leagues

The Dodgers recalled Feyereisen from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Feyereisen and right-hander Michael Petersen will join the Los Angeles bullpen for the series finale versus the Royals, providing the club with some much-needed fresh arms in the bullpen after five Dodgers relievers covered the final seven innings of Saturday's 7-2 loss. Over his nine appearances with the Dodgers this season, Feyereisen has submitted a 6.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Sent to Triple-A

Feyereisen was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Feyereisen was called up by Los Angeles at the start of May and will head back to the minors after he allowed six earned runs with an 8:5 K:BB across nine innings. The right-hander gave up all those runs in his first two outings before he turned in seven straight scoreless appearances.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Back with Dodgers

The Dodgers recalled Feyereisen from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Feyereisen has put up a 3.38 ERA and 0.98 WHIP across 10.2 innings at Oklahoma City, and he'll now come up to give the Dodgers another fresh bullpen arm. Landon Knack was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Moved to Triple-A

Feyereisen was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Feyereisen's stint with the big-league club lasted only a few days, as he was promoted Saturday. He didn't fare well in his second appearance of the 2024 campaign Sunday against the Padres, surrendering three runs on two hits and two walks in one-third of an inning.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Summoned to majors

The Dodgers recalled Feyereisen from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday. Feyereisen was knocked around for three runs over one inning of work in the second game of the Dodgers' series in South Korea versus the Padres. It was the 31-year-old's first appearance in the majors since 2022, as he missed all of 2023 following shoulder surgery. Feyereisen will probably work in middle relief for the time being.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Heads to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Feyereisen to Triple-A Oklahoma City on March 22. Feyereisen missed the entire 2023 season while recovering from shoulder surgery, but he received a clean bill of health for spring training and pitched well enough early on in camp to earn a spot on the Dodgers' 31-player travel squad for the two-game Seoul Series in South Korea with the Padres. He ended up making his Dodgers debut in the second game of the series March 21 and was roughed up over his lone inning of relief work, as he served up three earned runs on three hits and one walk in the 15-11 loss. The Dodgers sent him to minor-league camp one day later, and Feyereisen will now look to right the ship at Oklahoma City with the hopes of earning a longer-term stay in the big-league bullpen.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Expected back for spring

Feyereisen (shoulder) is expected to be a "full go" for spring training, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Feyereisen was forced to miss all of last season after undergoing a shoulder procedure in December 2022. He threw a bullpen session Saturday as the latest step in his rehab program and appears set to compete for a spot in the Dodgers' bullpen in the spring. The 30-year-old reliever boasts a 2.31 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 89.2 innings in his MLB career.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Agrees to terms

Feyereisen (shoulder) agreed to a one-year, $770,000 deal with the Dodgers on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. He was traded to the Dodgers from the Rays in December of 2022 after Tampa Bay initially designated him for assignment, and he missed the entire 2023 season recovering from shoulder surgery, so it's not surprising to see Feyereisen get one of the lowest deals among arbitration-eligible players. The 30-year-old reliever did not give up an earned run in 24.1 innings for the Rays in 2022. He has four career saves in 83 appearances.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Dealt to Dodgers

The Dodgers acquired Feyereisen (shoulder) from the Rays on Wednesday in exchange for a minor-league reliever Jeff Belge, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Tampa Bay recently designated Feyereisen for assignment after the team announced its signing of free-agent pitcher Zach Eflin, but the 29-year-old right-hander will reclaim a 40-man roster spot as he joins his new organization. However, because Feyereisen underwent rotator cuff and labrum cleanup surgery earlier this month and isn't expected to start throwing for another four months, he'll likely be moved to the 60-day injured list before Opening Day with the expectation that he won't be ready to make his Dodgers debut until late August at the earliest. When healthy, the right-hander has been an effective reliever at the MLB level, posting a 2.31 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 11.8 K-BB% across 89.2 career innings.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Designated for assignment

Feyereisen (shoulder) was designated for assignment by the Rays on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. It was announced last week that Feyereisen had surgery on his pitching shoulder and would be sidelined for a large chunk of the 2023 season. Nevertheless, the move comes as a bit of a surprise, as the 29-year-old didn't allow a single earned run in 22 appearances in 2022 and is under team control through 2026. There figures to be interest in him on waivers.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Requires shoulder surgery

Feyereisen underwent surgery on his right shoulder Wednesday to clean up his rotator cuff and labrum, and he's expected to be sidelined from throwing for four months, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Feyereisen was sidelined the final four months of last season due to a pinched nerve in his shoulder, and he'll now miss the start of the 2023 campaign while rehabbing from the surgery. The right-hander delivered 24.1 scoreless frames prior to the injury in 2022 and figures to fill a high-leverage role once healthy, but he's unlikely to be built up enough to pitch in the majors until at least June.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Likely done for 2022

Manager Kevin Cash said Friday that Feyereisen recently felt additional discomfort in his shoulder and is "highly unlikely" to return this season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The 29-year-old has been sidelined with a pinched nerve in his shoulder since early June, and it appears he won't return to the mound this season. Feyereisen didn't allow an earned run over 24.1 innings before landing on the shelf, and it's unclear if he's expected to be ready for the start of spring training next year.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Set for another bullpen

Feyereisen (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Monday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports. Feyereisen threw a bullpen session Friday and will continue ramping up his activity. He has been sidelined since June 3 and will likely require at least a brief rehab assignment before being activated. Prior to going down, Feyereisen had tallied a save and seven holds, so he will likely fit back into high-leverage situations prior to the close of the campaign.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Throws bullpen Friday

Feyereisen (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Feyereisen has been on the injured list with a shoulder issue since early June but said after Friday's throwing session that his shoulder feels good. The right-hander will presumably require a rehab assignment at some point and hopes to rejoin the Rays around mid-September.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Transferred to 60-day IL

Feyereisen (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday. Feyereisen was placed on the 15-day injured list in early June, and he'll be unavailable until at least the first week of August following Monday's transaction. The right-hander has been building arm strength recently, but the bone bruise in his shoulder hasn't yet fully healed. A better idea of his return timetable should come into focus once he resumes a throwing program.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Building arm strength

Feyereisen (shoulder) has begun one-armed plyo ball exercises, Ethan Diamandas of MLB.com reports. Manager Kevin Cash said that Feyereisen is continuing to feel better, but the bone bruise in his shoulder has not yet fully healed. As a result, he has yet to resume throwing and appears to still be at least a few weeks from returning to the mound.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Feeling better, not throwing

Feyereisen (shoulder) is feeling better but is still only receiving treatment, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports. Feyereisen has been sidelined since June 3 with a bone bruise in his shoulder. Manager Kevin Cash noted Monday that the issue is still causing enough soreness that Feyereisen has yet to begin throwing in any capacity. A return early in July remains possible, though Feyereisen will likely have to begin ramping up in short order to make a return prior to the All-Star break.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: MRI reveals bone bruise

Feyereisen (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Saturday that revealed a bone bruise, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The right-hander was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, but it's a positive sign that he's dealing with a bone bruise rather than an issue related to the muscles or ligaments in his shoulder. A timetable for Feyereisen's return isn't yet clear, but the Rays will likely receive an additional late-inning option soon since Andrew Kittredge (back) is expected to be reinstated from the 15-day IL in the coming days.
