  • Dodgers' Jack Suwinski: Sent outright to Triple-A

Suwinski was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.

Suwinski was scooped up off waivers by the Dodgers on Feb. 21, and he appears on track to begin the year at Triple-A Oklahoma City after passing through another round of waivers unclaimed. He struggled to a .147 average with three home runs, 10 RBI, seven stolen bases and 15 runs scored a season ago in 59 games with Pittsburgh.

  • Dodgers' Jack Suwinski: Claimed by Dodgers

The Dodgers claimed Suwinski off waivers from the Pirates on Saturday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Suwinski will claim a spot on Los Angeles' 40-man roster after being DFA'd by the Pirates on Monday. The 27-year-old is out of minor-league options, however, so he will have to make the Dodgers' Opening Day roster to keep his spot, which seems unlikely considering he's slashed just .169/.271/.297 in the majors over the past two seasons.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Cleared off 40-man roster

The Pirates designated Suwinski for assignment Monday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Suwinski ended up being the casualty after the Pirates needed to free up a 40-man roster spot for the signing of Marcell Ozuna. After showing promise in his first two big-league seasons with 45 home runs over 250 games, Suwinski managed a weak .169/.271/.297 batting line and 29.9 percent strikeout rate over the subsequent two seasons. The 27-year-old doesn't have minor-league options remaining, but he's shown enough upside that he could draw interest via waivers.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Avoids arbitration with Pirates

Suwinski signed a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Pirates on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Suwinski struggled to get in a groove at the plate in the majors in 2025, finishing the season with just a .534 OPS through 178 plate appearances. He turned in a .954 OPS across 230 plate appearances at Triple-A Indianapolis, however, which was good enough to earn him a $465,000 raise and another year in the organization. The 27-year-old finished the year as Pittsburgh's primary left fielder but is sure to face some competition during spring training.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Some late improvement

Suwinski went 2-for-3 with an RBI on Saturday against Atlanta.

Suwinski delivered an RBI in the sixth inning to put the Pirates up 3-1. He's had an abysmal offensive season and spent much of the year in the minors, though he has at least one hit in five of his last seven games. Suwinski has closed the season as the Pirates' primary left fielder against right-handed pitching, though he's likely to face significant competition for a roster spot to begin 2026.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Idle against southpaw

Suwinski is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

The lefty-hitting Suwinski will dodge a same-hand matchup with Joey Wentz. Tommy Pham, Alexander Canario and Bryan Reynolds will fill the outfield from left to right.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Exiting starting nine

Suwinski is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

Suwinski had started five of the past six games against right-handed pitching, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Reds send righty Hunter Greene to the bump. Tommy Pham will play right field and bat sixth for the Pirates.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Getting regular reps in left field

Suwinski will start in left field and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the Reds.

Suwinski looks to have leap-frogged the slumping Tommy Pham in left field, as this will be his fourth start over the last five games against right-handers. The left-handed-hitting Suwinski hasn't done much himself lately, going 2-for-16 with nine strikeouts since being recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis earlier this month.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Reinstated from injured list

The Pirates activated Suwinski (groin) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Suwinski has been shelved since late August with a groin strain but is ready to roll after going 3-for-9 with a pair of home runs in three rehab contests with Triple-A Indianapolis. The 27-year-old had been seeing regular starts in the outfield against right-handed pitching pitching before he got hurt, but Suwinski would appear in line for a reserve role in the final two weeks of the season.

Suwinski (groin) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Thursday in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Indianapolis.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Lands on IL

The Pirates placed Suwinski on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right groin strain.

Suwinski went 1-for-3 with a strikeout during Pittsburgh's game against the Cardinals on Thursday, but he'll now be forced to sit out at least the next 10 days nursing an injured groin. While he recovers, Ronny Simon will come up from Triple-A Indianapolis to replenish the Buccos' outfield depth.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Heading to bench Wednesday

Suwinski is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Suwinski had started each of the last three games and six of the previous seven, but he's likely to serve as more of a fourth outfielder for Pittsburgh heading into the final month of the season after center fielder Oneil Cruz returned from the injured list Tuesday. However, with the Pirates handing more frequent days off to veterans Andrew McCutchen and Tommy Pham down the stretch, Suwinski could still be in store for a handful of starts per week.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Resting up Monday

Suwinski is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

The left-handed-hitting Suwinski has been drawing regular starts against right-handed pitching of late, but he'll head to the bench Monday while the Blue Jays send righty Kevin Gausman to the hill. With Suwinski getting the night off in the series opener, Alexander Canario will cover center field and will bat seventh.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Getting regular run in center field

Suwinski will start in center field and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Suwinski has started four of the last five games and appears to be the primary option in center field against right-handed pitching while Oneil Cruz (concussion) is on the 7-day injured list. Since the start of August, Suwinski has produced a .798 OPS over 12 games.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Comes up clutch Friday

Suwinski went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cubs. He was also hit by a pitch.

Suwinski broke a 2-2 tie with a go-ahead solo shot in the ninth, which proved to be the game-winner. It was the 27-year-old's second homer in his past 10 games, though he's just 5-for-28 in that span. On the season, he's slashing a bleak .125/.282/.240 with three home runs, six RBI, 11 runs scored and six steals across 117 plate appearances.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Rare multi-hit performance

Suwinski went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a walk Sunday against the Reds.

Suwinski has earned playing time across all three outfield spots in the last week, starting six of seven games against right-handed pitchers. As pedestrian as his performance was, Sunday was one of his better games of the season and marked only his second multi-hit performance across 26 starts. Suwinski is hitting a miserable .126 for the campaign and has only a .092 ISO across 106 plate appearances.

  • Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Goes yard in victory

Suwinski went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-4 win against the Giants.

The Pittsburgh outfielder notched his second long ball of the season when he took San Francisco reliever Carson Seymour deep in seventh inning. The round-tripper marked Suwinski's second extra-base hit -- both homers -- since rejoining the big-league club July 8 in a reserve role. Since then, the 27-year-old has struggled at the plate with a .103 (3-for-29) average, four runs scored and three RBI across 13 contests.
