Kelley was sent to minor-league spring training Monday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Kelley had a rough go in big-league camp, allowing four runs on one hit and two walks while striking out one over 2.1 innings of work. He'll now set his sights on preparing for the minor-league season and should end up reporting to Triple-A Tacoma. Kelley posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.52 WHIP with a 28:11 K:BB across 32.2 frames a season ago at Triple-A Durham.

Mariners' Trevor Kelley: Latches on with Seattle
Kelley signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The right-hander appeared in nine games during spring training, surrendering just one run over 7.2 innings while striking out six batters. Kelley signed a minor-league deal with the Rays' organization in January after struggling to a 6.08 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 23 punchouts over 23.2 innings with the Brewers in 2022. The 29-year-old has already earned himself a 40-man roster spot and if he can continue to produce like he did this spring, Kelley will likely earn a call-up this summer.

The Rays selected Kelley's contract Wednesday and added him to their 40-man roster.
Kelley joined Tampa Bay on a minor-league deal in January and had been in line to have his contract selected shortly before spring training, but the Rays later rescinded the transaction. One month later, Kelley will now officially get a spot on the 40-man roster since Wednesday marked the first day that MLB teams can select the contracts of non-roster invitees. Kelley has a minor-league option remaining, so the Rays' decision to select his contract doesn't guarantee that he'll break camp as a member of the big club's Opening Day bullpen.

This was just an error on the Rays' part, as players on non-roster invitee deals aren't eligible to have their contracts selected until March 15. Kelley is expected to be added to the 40-man roster at that time.
