Astros' Parker Mushinski: Outrighted to Triple-A
The Astros outrighted Mushinski to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Mushinski lost his 40-man roster spot last week when the Astros needed to free up space for Kyle Tucker's return from the 60-day injured list. He will remain at Sugar Land, where he's spent the bulk of 2024 and posted a 4.25 ERA and 50:22 K:BB over 42.1 innings.

Mushinski was designated for assignment Friday.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Kyle Tucker (shin) to be activated from the 60-day injured list. Mushinski, a 28-year-old lefty reliever, logged a 6.55 ERA and more walks (five) than strikeouts (three) in 11 innings across 10 appearances with the big club this season.

The Astros will recall Mushinski from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Friday's game versus the Brewers, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
There's no word yet on what the corresponding move will be, but Shawn Dubin threw three innings Thursday so he is a candidate to be optioned. Mushinski has been knocked around for seven runs (five earned) over four relief innings during his time in the majors this season.

The Astros recalled Mushinski from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday.
Since being optioned to Triple-A on April 12, Mushinski has appeared in 12 games for Sugar Land, registering a 4.15 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB over 13 frames. The southpaw has not yielded a run over his last six minor-league outings, and he'll provide left-handed depth out of the bullpen for Houston. The Astros optioned right-hander Shawn Dubin to Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move.

Astros' Parker Mushinski: Resumes rehab assignment
Mushinski (back) has made four appearances for Triple-A Sugar Land since resuming his rehab assignment May 6, allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings.
Mushinski opened the season on the Astros' injured list due to a lumbar spine muscle spasm, but he was cleared to start his rehab assignment with Sugar Land on April 6. However, after four appearances with the affiliate, he was pulled off the assignment and shut down for a few weeks before reporting back to Sugar Land just over a week ago. Based on his recent form, Mushinski appears healthy and ready to rejoin the Houston bullpen, but it's unclear if the Astros are eager to option another player to the minors just to make room for a low-leverage relief arm.
