  • Royals' Connor Seabold: Placed on IL with strained lat

The Royals placed Seabold on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right lat strain. Seabold had to be pulled from an appearance Tuesday against the Rays because of the injury. The severity of the strain is unclear, but even a mild one could result in an absence beyond the 15-day minimum. Seabold has pitched for three different teams this season, collecting a 5.25 ERA and 20:11 K:BB across 24 frames.

  • Royals' Connor Seabold: Traded to Kansas City

The Royals acquired Seabold from the Blue Jays on Monday in exchange for Denis Samudio and cash considerations. Seabold has made 16 relief appearances between the Tigers and Blue Jays this season, collecting a 4.26 ERA and 15:7 K:BB over 19 innings. The 30-year-old is capable of providing length for a Royals bullpen that could use it.

  • Blue Jays' Connor Seabold: Loses roster spot

The Blue Jays designated Seabold for assignment Wednesday. Following his acquisition from the Tigers on May 27, Seabold made five appearances out of the Toronto bullpen and gave up three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one batter in 3.1 innings. The 30-year-old right-hander will give up his spot on the roster to Max Scherzer (ankle/forearm), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Phillies.

  • Blue Jays' Connor Seabold: Traded to Blue Jays

The Blue Jays acquired Seabold from the Tigers on Wednesday in exchange for Juanmi Vasquez. Seabold had been designated for assignment by Detroit and is now headed to a new organization. He was with the Blue Jays during spring training but was a late roster cut before linking up with Detroit. The 30-year-old held a 3.45 ERA and 14:5 K:BB over 15.2 innings out of the Tigers' bullpen and will give the Blue Jays some additional length in their relief corps.

  • Tigers' Connor Seabold: Effective in team debut

Seabold tossed 2.1 scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Padres. He allowed one hit and struck out three. After Detroit starter Jack Flaherty allowed three runs (two earned) while covering only 4.1 innings, Seabold was needed to cover a few frames. The righty looked sharp across 50 pitches in his team debut, and he managed to keep the Tigers in the game after Flaherty's ineffective outing. It looks like Seabold, who has made 19 starts at the MLB level in his career, will be tasked with a long-relief role in Detroit.

  • Tigers' Connor Seabold: Will begin season in big leagues

The Tigers announced Monday that Seabold will be listed on the Opening Day roster, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports. Seabold agreed to a split major-league contract with the Tigers earlier Monday, and it didn't take long for the club to confirm that the right-hander will start the year in the major leagues. The 30-year-old is presumably in line for low-leverage opportunities with his new squad after working to a 4.35 ERA in 10.1 innings during stops in Tampa Bay and Atlanta a season ago. "We're happy to add him," said manager A.J. Hinch, per Petzold. "We really like the adjustment that he made, with both his stuff and the way his pitches are interacting. As his stuff improved, he got a ton of swing-and-miss this spring."

  • Connor Seabold: Cut by Toronto

The Blue Jays granted Seabold his release Saturday. Seabold tallied an impressive 13 strikeouts in just 6.2 innings this spring, but he did so while allowing five earned runs to score. Now a free agent, he'll likely have to settle for a minor-league contract after posting a 6.07 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over 69.2 Triple-A frames in 2025.

  • Blue Jays' Connor Seabold: Joins Toronto on MiLB deal

Seabold signed a minor-league contract with the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Seabold split the 2025 campaign between Tampa Bay and Atlanta, allowing five earned runs with a 10:6 K:BB over 10.1 innings. The 29-year-old spent the rest of the campaign at the Triple-A level, where he scuffled to a 6.07 ERA and 1.42 WHIP across 69.2 frames.

  • Braves' Connor Seabold: Dispatched to Triple-A

Atlanta optioned Seabold to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday. Seabold worked 1.1 innings of relief Tuesday against the White Sox and surrendered two earned runs on two hits and one walk, while striking out just one in his Atlanta debut. He'll now return to Gwinnett, where he made just one appearance after being claimed off waivers before being promoted.

  • Braves' Connor Seabold: Recalled by Atlanta

Atlanta recalled Seabold from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday. Seabold was claimed off waivers earlier this month and is now headed to the majors. The right-hander has permitted one run with a 5:3 K:BB over 6.2 frames at the big-league level this season. Seabold has made 10 starts in 2025 at the Triple-A level, so he has the ability to eat up some innings out of the bullpen.

  • Braves' Connor Seabold: Finds home with Atlanta

Atlanta claimed Seabold off waivers from Tampa Bay on Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Though he'll report to Triple-A, Seabold will provide Atlanta with organizational starting pitching depth as the big club navigates numerous injuries to its rotation. Seabold made a pair of multi-inning relief appearances for Tampa Bay but has primarily worked out of the rotation at Triple-A Durham this season, logging a 6.49 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 57:26 K:BB across 61 innings.

  • Rays' Connor Seabold: Recalled from Triple-A

The Rays recalled Seabold from Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Since being optioned to the minors in late May, Seabold has given up six runs while striking out eight batters and walking nine across nine innings. Despite his recent struggles, he'll return to Tampa to provide the Rays with a fresh bullpen arm, replacing Cole Sulser.

  • Rays' Connor Seabold: Heading back to Triple-A

The Rays optioned Seabold to Triple-A Durham on Thursday. He'll give up his spot in the Tampa Bay bullpen to right-hander Kevin Kelly (glute), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list. After getting a call-up from Durham on May 9, Seabold made just two relief appearances for the Rays and gave up an earned run on six hits and one walk over 3.2 innings.

  • Rays' Connor Seabold: Opening season in minors

The Rays reassigned Seabold to minor-league camp Sunday. Seabold previously made 19 starts at the big-league level between stops with the Red Sox and Rockies from 2021 through 2023, but he fell short in his bid for a spot in the Rays' Opening Day rotation. The 29-year-old right-hander will head to Triple-A Durham to begin the campaign, but after excelling in the Korea Baseball Organization with the Samsung Lions last season and acquitting himself well in Grapefruit League play this spring (4.91 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, .171 batting average against in 11 innings), Seabold could be in the mix for starts with the Rays later on in 2025.

  • Connor Seabold: Released by Rockies

Seabold was released by the Rockies on Wednesday, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports. The Rockies needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster if they wanted to make a pick during Wednesday's Rule 5 Draft, and they've done just that. Seabold posted a ghastly 7.52 ERA over 27 appearances (13 starts) for Colorado in 2023. He'll turn 28 next month.

  • Rockies' Connor Seabold: Recalled from Triple-A

The Rockies recalled Seabold from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday. Seabold returns as a fresh bullpen arm for the Rockies leading into their final four games of the 2023 campaign. The 27-year-old right-hander carries an ugly 7.65 ERA through 82.1 major-league innings this season.

  • Rockies' Connor Seabold: Heads back to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Seabold to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Colorado will swap Seabold off the 26-man active roster in favor of a fresh arm in right-hander Karl Kauffmann, who should serve as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. Seabold was touched up for seven earned runs on eight hits and one walk over two innings of mop-up duty in his most recent appearance in Monday's 12-1 loss to the Brewers. After the ugly outing, Seabold is now sitting on a 7.65 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over 82.1 innings on the season.

  • Rockies' Connor Seabold: Struggles again Saturday

Seabold (1-7) allowed six runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one over 2.1 innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Yankees. Seabold has completely fallen apart with 30 runs allowed over his last 19 innings. All of them have been earned, and yielding 10 home runs in that span certainly isn't helping his cause, though half of those long balls have come in his two road starts in that span. Seabold now has a 7.18 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 54:24 K:BB through 72.2 innings on the year. Despite the crooked numbers, the Rockies are currently lacking in pitching depth, so he can be tentatively projected to make a road start in Miami next week.

  • Rockies' Connor Seabold: Early exit against Giants

Seabold (1-6) took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk over 3.2 innings as the Rockies were downed 5-3 by the Giants. He struck out three. The right-hander needed 73 pitches (47 strikes) to record just 11 outs as he failed to complete four innings for the second time in his last four outings. Seabold is proving to be overmatched as a rotation option. losing four straight starts and posting a 12.96 ERA and 1.92 WHIP over that stretch, but Colorado doesn't have any clear alternatives to replace him after the All-Star break.

  • Rockies' Connor Seabold: Gives up four runs in five innings

Seabold (1-4) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk over five innings against the Dodgers. He struck out three. After being scratched from his last start with a right arm issue, Seabold turned in a solid outing against one of MLB's top offenses. Though Seabold owns a 6.19 ERA as a starter this season, he registered a 4.50 ERA over his first eight starts (40 innings) before giving up a combined 13 runs across his last two appearances. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively lined up to come against the Giants at Oracle Park.
