Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Shipped to Pittsburgh
The Pirates acquired Stratton from Atlanta on Thursday in exchange for Joey Bart.
Atlanta designated Stratton for assignment Wednesday and quickly found a trade partner for the 29-year-old right-hander. Stratton was originally a Pirates draft pick in 2017 and spent the better part of nine seasons with the organization before he was dealt to Atlanta last summer. Across 60 career big-league appearances, Stratton owns a 3.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 60:17 K:BB across 69.2 innings, though he'll initially report to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Braves' Hunter Stratton: Records three-inning save
Stratton picked up a save against the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three hits and striking out three batters over three scoreless innings.
Two days after he was recalled from Triple-A, Stratton was given the ball in the seventh frame after Atlanta rolled to a 10-1 lead. Rather than deploy multiple relievers the rest of the way, manager Brian Snitker let Stratton finish the contest, which he did in fine form, allowing just three baserunners (all on singles). The save was the right-hander's second of his career. There probably won't be many (if any) more opportunities for Stratton to build upon that number this year, as he's not a high-leverage part of Atlanta's bullpen.

The 28-year-old righty was DFA'd by Pittsburgh on Thursday after giving up seven earned runs in 2.2 innings with the big club, and he'll likely need to show improvement in the minors before getting a chance in Atlanta. Chris Sale (ribs) was transferred to the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.
