Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Undergoes shoulder surgery
Graterol underwent right shoulder labrum surgery Thursday.
The Dodgers expect the reliever to miss the first half of the 2025 season but be back sometime after the All-Star break. The 26-year-old will be in his third of four arbitration years this offseason.

Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: On World Series roster
Graterol (shoulder) was added to the Dodgers' World Series roster Friday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Graterol has been out since the final week of the regular season due to right shoulder inflammation, but he's been throwing recently and showed enough that the Dodgers felt comfortable including him on their roster for the Fall Classic. The hard thrower is capable of handling high-leverage innings and could be needed for them with Evan Phillips (arm) out of commission.

In a corresponding move, Ben Casparius was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the opening in Los Angeles' bullpen.

Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Activated from IL
The Dodgers reinstated Graterol (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.
Graterol will return from the injured list a day earlier than originally expected, taking the place of Anthony Banda (hand), who landed on the IL in a corresponding move. The 26-year-old Graterol allowed two earned runs in just one-third of an inning before leaving his season debut with a hamstring strain Aug. 6, so there's a good chance the Dodgers limit him to low-leverage outings until he's able to find his footing in the big leagues.

Graterol (hamstring) will likely be activated from the 15-day injured list prior to Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Graterol has been out since Aug. 7 after suffering a Grade 3 right hamstring strain, but he's expected to be cleared for the team's final game of the series Wednesday if all goes according to plan. It wouldn't be a surprise to see the club deploy the right-hander in a few low-leverage situations upon his return, as he's logged one-third of an inning so far this season dating back to Aug. 6 against Philly.

Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Placed on injured list
The Dodgers placed Graterol on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a Grade 3 right hamstring strain.
Graterol suffered the injury while making his season debut Tuesday, and although he hasn't yet been ruled out for the rest of the season, the timing and severity of his strain leave him with a very slim chance of pitching again in 2024. His spot on the active roster will be given to Michael Grove (ribs), who returned from the IL on Wednesday.

Graterol made his season debut Tuesday after missing the first four months with a shoulder injury. Though manager Dave Roberts stopped short of ruling Graterol out for the season when asked about the reliever's injury following the game, Ardaya relays that the chances of Graterol pitching again in 2024 are "slim." Graterol posted a 1.20 ERA and recorded seven saves in 2023 for the Dodgers.

The 25-year-old had been making his season debut after sitting out the first four months of the season due to a shoulder injury, and he'll now presumably undergo testing to determine how much more time -- if any -- he'll have to miss.
