Rangers' Luis Curvelo: Optioned to Round Rock
The Rangers optioned Curvelo to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Texas added Curvelo to its bullpen Thursday, but he'll head right back to Triple-A after giving up three earned runs in one inning Friday against Boston. The 25-year-old now owns a 7.56 ERA and 1.92 WHIP through 8.1 innings with the Rangers this year and will likely have to show signs of improvement at Round Rock before getting another shot in the big leagues. Joe Ross was selected to the active roster in a corresponding move.

Curvelo was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock after Sunday's 10-0 win over Cleveland.
Curvelo will head back to the Triple-A level after being called up June 1. The 25-year-old appeared in three contests with the big-league club following his promotion, combining to give up two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out one batter over 2.1 innings. Curvelo will now wait for his next chance to join the big-league club down the road this year.

Rangers' Luis Curvelo: Leaves with thigh injury Saturday
Manager Skip Schumaker said Curvelo exited Saturday's game against the Guardians with a left thigh injury, Matt Postins of SI.com reports.
Curvelo was struck on the inner thigh above the knee by a comebacker off the bat of Patrick Bailey in the top of the eighth inning and was immediately removed from the game after he fell to the ground following a bad throw to first base on the play. "He wasn't feeling really good," Schumaker said. It's unclear if Curvelo will need a stint on the injured list.

Curvelo threw just two pitches Tuesday before leaving the game with an injury, and he's now set to miss at least the next 15 days as well.
