  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Optioned to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Rincones (knee) to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.

Rincones spent the entire 2025 season in Triple-A, where he slashed .242/.366/.430 with 22 steals (on 27 attempts), 18 home runs and 73 RBI in 505 plate appearances. He's currently working through a left knee injury, and it's unclear whether he'll be available for the start of the regular season.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Battling knee soreness

Rincones will miss the first part of the Grapefruit League schedule due to left knee soreness, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Rincones was awarded a 40-man roster spot during the offseason after slashing .242/.366/.430 with 18 homers, 73 RBI, 80 runs scored and 22 steals across 119 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley last year. The 24-year-old outfield prospect was expected to compete for a spot on the Phillies' bench during spring training, but his chances of making the Opening Day roster have taken a significant hit now that he's slated to miss some time.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Joins 40-man roster

The Phillies selected Rincones' contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Rincones is one of Philadelphia's top prospects, so it's no surprise the organization elected to protect him from being taken during the upcoming Rule 5 Draft. In his first taste of the Triple-A level in 2025, the 24-year-old posted a .242/.366/.430 slash line with 18 homers and 22 steals in 119 games.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Ks in check at Triple-A

Rincones is slashing .293/.333/.569 with three home runs, one steal and a 19 percent strikeout rate through 63 plate appearances for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The lefty-hitting slugger has by far the best strikeout rate of his career -- his prior career best over a large sample was his 24.8 percent strikeout rate at High-A in 2023. Rincones has always had huge raw power, and he moves well for a likely strong-side platoon corner outfielder, having stolen 23 bases in 68 games a season ago.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Returns to action for Reading

Rincones (thumb) is slashing .255/.340/.404 with one home run, five stolen bases, a 7.5 percent walk rate and a 28.3 percent strikeout rate in 12 games since being reinstated from Double-A Reading's 60-day injured list July 19.

Rincones returned to action for Reading after he tore a ligament in his right thumb April 24 and went on the IL a day later. The outfielder was cleared for game action in early July and appeared in eight rehab contests in the rookie-level Florida Complex League before rejoining Reading.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Recovering from thumb injury

Rincones, who is on the 7-day injured list with Double-A Reading, tore a ligament in his right thumb on April 24 and could return in the middle of July, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

A 6-foot-3 lefty slugger, Rincones got off to a great start before the injury, slashing .300/.417/.600 with four home runs, four steals and a 26.7 percent strikeout rate in 60 plate appearances. This injury may prevent Rincones from pushing for a big-league debut in his age-23 season.
