Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Jumps to leadoff spot
De Paula is batting leadoff as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Reds, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
The 21-year-old has gone 2-for-9 with a double, a homer and a stolen base in four games since getting his first promotion to the big leagues Friday, and he'll now move atop the order for Los Angeles. It remains to be seen if this is a one-time lineup shakeup or a longer-term change, but De Paula seems likely to stick if he continues to produce at the plate -- at least until Shohei Ohtani (knee/biceps) is ready to return.

Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Launches first career homer
De Paula went 2-for-2 with a three-run home run, a double and a walk in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Marlins.
De Paula smacked a 416-foot blast for his first major-league hit before reaching base in his next two trips to the plate. The top prospect has now gone 2-for-7 through three games with the Dodgers, and he's reached base in each game with an impressive 4:0 BB. It was his first game in the field, and it's worth noting that he was lifted for a defensive replacement in the sixth inning.

Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Officially promoted
The Dodgers selected De Paula's contract from Double-A Tulsa on Friday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
After slashing .303/.401/.547 with 27 homers, 104 RBI, 106 runs and 31 steals across 588 plate appearances at Tulsa, De Paula will skip Triple-A and move directly to the majors. With Shohei Ohtani (knee/biceps) moving to the injured list, De Paula is expected to take over as the Dodgers' primary designated hitter, though he could also make a few starts in the outfield if needed. Eric Lauer (elbow) was moved to the 60-day injured list to free up a spot on the 40-man roster.

Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Set to join Dodgers
The Dodgers are expected to select De Paula's contract from Double-A Tulsa before Friday's game against Miami, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.
Viewed as the top prospect in the Dodgers' farm system, De Paula will skip Triple-A and head straight to the majors after slashing .302/.400/.539 with 26 homers, 101 RBI, 105 runs scored and 31 steals with the Drillers. The 21-year-old will help to bolster the Dodgers' corner-outfield depth but could immediately slot into the big club's starting nine if Shohei Ohtani (knee/biceps/neck) requires a stint on the IL.

Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Sent to minor-league camp
De Paula was reassigned to the Dodgers' minor-league camp Sunday.
De Paula was able to participate in his first major-league spring training with Los Angeles, batting an impressive .375 with a double, three RBI and four runs scored over 24 at-bats in 14 contests. The 20-year-old will now likely begin the 2026 campaign with Double-A Tulsa, which is where he finished the 2025 season.
