  • Blue Jays' Easton Lucas: Sent to Florida Complex League

The Blue Jays optioned Lucas to the Florida Complex League on Saturday. Lucas gave up six earned runs in 4.2 innings after joining the Blue Jays' bullpen Tuesday, making him an easy choice for the team to send to its spring training facility to make room for Nick Robertson, who was recalled from Triple-A.

  • Blue Jays' Easton Lucas: Recalled from Triple-A

The Blue Jays recalled Lucas from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday. Lucas was claimed off waivers last month and will be making his Blue Jays debut when/if he gets into a game. The lefty reliever holds a 9.22 ERA and 15:9 K:BB over 13.2 innings from 2023-24 during his brief time at the major-league level.

  • Blue Jays' Easton Lucas: Claimed by Jays

The Blue Jays claimed Lucas off waivers Monday. The Tigers designated Lucas for assignment Friday after he allowed two runs in 3.1 innings. While he finds a new home in Toronto, the 27-year-old will likely report to Triple-A Buffalo. Lucas logged a 3.51 ERA across 33.1 innings for Detroit's Triple-A affiliate. Alek Manoah (elbow) was moved to the 60-day injured list to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Lucas.

  • Tigers' Easton Lucas: Dropped from 40-man roster

The Tigers designated Lucas for assignment Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports. Lucas will lose his spot on the 40-man roster with the Tigers selecting the contracts of Jace Jung and Trey Sweeney. Lucas hasn't pitched for Detroit since July 28. The 27-year-old has a 10.29 ERA in MLB this season but posted a 3.51 ERA across 33.1 innings with Triple-A Toledo, where he'll likely remain if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

  • Tigers' Easton Lucas: Sent to Triple-A

The Tigers optioned Lucas to Triple-A Toledo on Monday. Lucas was a waiver pickup by the Tigers earlier this season and has permitted two runs over 3.1 innings during his brief time in Detroit. Bryan Sammons was called up from Triple-A to take Lucas' spot on the 26-man active roster.

  • Tigers' Easton Lucas: Earns first MLB win

Lucas (1-0) tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win Thursday against the Guardians. He struck out two. Tyler Holton started the bullpen game for Detroit, with Lucas next up. The 27-year-old had allowed seven earned runs over his first four innings this season with the Athletics and Tigers, but he looked sharper in this one to earn his first MLB win. Lucas is still likely only going to serve as a low-leverage middle reliever in Detroit, so while the occasional win out of the bullpen is nice, he will be hard pressed to maintain much fantasy value.

  • Tigers' Easton Lucas: Summoned from Triple-A

The Tigers recalled Lucas from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Lucas will provide a fresh arm for a Detroit bullpen that was forced to cover the final seven innings of Saturday's 7-3 win over the Blue Jays after starter Reese Olson (shoulder) exited early. The southpaw reliever has previously made three appearances at the big-league level this season, all with Oakland. He had compiled a 4.38 ERA and 1.40 WHIP while striking out 32 batters over 24.2 innings at Toledo after Detroit claimed him off waivers in May.

  • Tigers' Easton Lucas: Called up from minors

The Tigers recalled Lucas from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports. Lucas will join the big-league club for the first time since being claimed off waivers by Detroit on May 18. He made three appearances with the Athletics before being moved off the 40-man roster, allowing seven runs (six earned) across 3.2 innings. He also struggled at Toledo, accumulating a 6.14 ERA across 14.2 innings.

  • Athletics' Easton Lucas: Removed from 40-man roster

The Athletics designated Lucas for assignment Thursday. Lucas was pushed off the Athletics' 40-man roster after Oakland acquired right-hander Brandon Bielak via trade from Houston on Thursday. The former was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas earlier this week but had made three appearances for the big club this season, giving up six earned runs on eight hits and three walks over 3.2 innings.

  • Athletics' Easton Lucas: Sent back down

Lucas was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. Lucas has bounced between the majors and Triple-A during May. He's allowed at least one run in each of his three MLB appearances, including a four-run (three earned) outing Monday across 1.1 innings.

  • Athletics' Easton Lucas: Sent down to Triple-A

The Athletics optioned Lucas to Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday. The move corresponds with the Athletics recalling right-hander Joey Estes from Triple-A Las Vegas. After having his contract selected from Las Vegas on Wednesday, Lucas struggled in his two major-league outings, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six over 2.1 innings. Lucas has a more respectable 2.87 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 15.2 frames in Triple-A, so a return to the minors could help the southpaw regain some form.

  • Athletics' Easton Lucas: Dropped from 40-man roster

The Athletics outrighted Lucas to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday. Lucas remains in the Oakland organization after he was moved off the 40-man roster before clearing waivers. The 27-year-old southpaw reached the majors for the first time in 2023, appearing in six games out of the Oakland bullpen and giving up six earned runs on 10 hits and four walks over 6.2 innings.

  • Athletics' Easton Lucas: Traded to Oakland

The Orioles traded Lucas to the Athletics on Wednesday in exchange for Shintaro Fujinami, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. Lucas began 2023 with Double-A Bowie and was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk after a hot start. The 26-year-old lefty has since put up a 4.26 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 12.2 frames in Triple-A. If Lucas is able to hold his own in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League, he could work his way into the Athletics bullpen this season -- though he would have to be added to the 40-man roster first.
