Padres' Nick Solak: Returns to Padres organization
Solak and the Padres agreed on a minor-league contract Sunday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Solak briefly tested the free-agency waters after being designated for assignment by the Padres on June 21 and then clearing waivers, but he'll now return to the organization. The 31-year-old will report to Triple-A El Paso.

Called up from Triple-A El Paso after Andujar landed on the IL on June 13, Solak appeared in four games and went 1-for-7 with a walk and an RBI during his one-week stay with San Diego.

Solak was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Tuesday and he'll now join his fourth organization of the year, having also passed through the hands of the Mariners and White Sox. The 28-year-old produced a .272 batting average with six homers, 28 RBI, 23 runs and two stolen bases over 151 at-bats in 38 games with Triple-A Gwinnett and will look to impress with Toledo in an attempt to get back to the big leagues.
