Just In: World Series Game 7 Lineups Are OUT!

Player Outlook
The minor league journeyman infielder finally got a shot at the majors at age 31 last season and showed surprising power. He hit four home runs with a .457 SLG in 21 games. However, he had just a .197 BA likely due to bad luck with a .147 BABIP. He's always had good strikeout and walk rates in the minors, so he could hold his own if needed for an extended stretch in the majors. He'll compete for a utility role this spring but more likely adds depth at Triple-A.

  • Dodgers' Ryan Fitzgerald: Outrighted to OKC

Fitzgerald cleared waivers Tuesday and was sent outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Fitzgerald was booted off the Dodgers' 40-man roster last Tuesday, but he will officially remain with the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 31-year-old infielder made his MLB debut last year and slashed .196/.302/.457 with four homers in 24 games with the Twins. He'll likely spend the vast majority of 2026 in Triple-A.

  • Dodgers' Ryan Fitzgerald: Booted from 40-man roster

The Dodgers designated Fitzgerald for assignment Tuesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Andy Ibanez, whose signing was made official Tuesday. Fitzgerald was a waiver claim of the Dodgers last week and will now be available again for other clubs to claim. He slashed .196/.302/.457 with four home runs in 24 games for the Twins in 2025.

  • Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Flexing power to close out year

Fitzgerald went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-0 win over Philadelphia. The rookie outfielder has shown off an impressive power stroke during his limited action in the major leagues, going yard four times in just 43 at-bats this season. It remains to be seen if the 31-year-old infielder will stay with the Twins for 2026, but he's been useful enough so far to figure he has a chance to stick around as depth. Despite batting just .209, Fitzgerald has a .794 OPS with nine RBI and one stolen base.

  • Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Goes deep in loss

Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's loss against the Yankees. Fitzgerald launched his third career homer in Tuesday's loss, turning on a cutter in a lefty-lefty battle against Ryan Yarbrough. Though his playing time has been sporadic, the infielder has made the most of recent opportunities, going 5-for-14 with two long balls and six RBI so far in September.

  • Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Recalled from Triple-A

The Twins recalled Fitzgerald from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday. Fitzgerald made his MLB debut with Minnesota earlier this season, receiving three plate appearances across two games. He scored one run but is still looking for his first major-league hit. Fitzgerald gives the Twins some infield depth following the trades of Carlos Correa, Willi Castro and Ty France.

  • Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Back in action at Triple-A

Fitzgerald (hamstring) went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI on Sunday in Triple-A St. Paul's 6-1 win over Louisville after being reinstated from the 7-day injured list earlier that day. Fitzgerald was on the shelf for just under a month due to a right hamstring strain. The 31-year-old infielder got the chance to make his MLB debut with the Twins in May, but he's spent the bulk of the campaign at Triple-A, slashing .293/.382/.492 with seven home runs and five steals in 220 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Heads back to Triple-A

The Twins optioned Fitzgerald to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports. The Twins haven't yet announced a corresponding move, which could point to Carlos Correa (concussion) returning from the 7-day injured list when first eligible Friday. Fitzgerald went hitless in three plate appearances this week in his first stint in the big leagues.

  • Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: On taxi squad

Fitzgerald has been added to the Twins' taxi squad, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Both Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton are in concussion protocol, so Fitzgerald is around in the event one or both of them needs to go on the 7-day concussion injured list. Fitzgerald has slashed .328/.426/.528 with four homers and three steals at Triple-A St. Paul this season. The 30-year-old is not on the 40-man roster and has never played in the big leagues.
