Giants' Jonah Cox: Back in big leagues
The Giants recalled Cox from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Cox has gone 7-for-26 with one home run, four stolen bases and a 0:15 BB:K in his first 29 plate appearances in the majors. The speedy outfielder could be a useful sources of stolen bases in fantasy if he receives regular playing time, but there's no guarantee that will happen.

Giants' Jonah Cox: Activated and optioned
The Giants activated Cox (oblique) from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento.
Cox has recovered from an oblique strain that's kept him out for nearly a month, but he'll remain in Sacramento where he had been on a rehab assignment. The speedy outfielder has posted a .769 OPS with one homer and four steals in 24 major-league contests in 2026.

Giants' Jonah Cox: Begins rehab assignment
Cox (oblique) went 0-for-3 in Triple-A Sacramento's 5-4 win over Tacoma on Wednesday.
Cox landed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain July 8. Although he didn't reach base and struck out twice Wednesday, his return to game action suggests he could be nearing a return to the big leagues. The 24-year-old outfielder was called up from Double-A Richmond on May 31 and slashed .269/.269/.500 with five runs scored, four stolen bases, three RBI and a home run across 29 plate appearances before being placed on the injured list.

Giants' Jonah Cox: Drawing closer to rehab assignment
Cox (oblique) was able to do some baserunning Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Cox has been on the injured list since July 8 due to a left oblique strain, but his ability to run the bases suggests that a rehab assignment could soon be on the horizon. The rookie outfielder had produced a .269/.269/.500 batting line with one home run, four stolen bases, three RBI and five runs over 29 plate appearances with the Giants prior to landing on the shelf.

Giants' Jonah Cox: Heads to IL with oblique strain
The Giants placed Cox on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a left oblique strain.
Since his placement on the IL is retroactive to Monday, Cox will be eligible to rejoin the Giants' active roster immediately following the All-Star break, though even mild oblique strains often carry recovery timelines of multiple weeks. Since being called up from Double-A Richmond on May 31, Cox has hit .269 with one home run, four steals, three RBI and five runs in 24 games while serving mainly as a short-side platoon player in the outfield.

Giants' Jonah Cox: Homers in blowout win
Cox went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 18-3 win over the Cubs.
Cox entered in the sixth inning and hit a leadoff single to right field before coming around to score, and he added another single later in the frame. The 24-year-old outfielder also opened the ninth inning with a solo home run to center field off catcher Carson Kelly. Cox has appeared in six straight outings since having his contract selected from Double-A Richmond on Sunday, batting 4-for-9 with three runs scored, a home run and a double in nine plate appearances.

Giants' Jonah Cox: Bypassing Triple-A for majors
The Giants selected Cox's contract from Double-A Richmond on Sunday.
The 24-year-old outfielder will skip over Triple-A and head to the majors after producing a monstrous .400/.453/.644 with six home runs and 27 stolen bases across 183 plate appearances in the Eastern League, though Cox's production comes with the caveat that he was older than most of his peers at Double-A. The right-handed hitter isn't in the lineup Sunday while the Giants face off against Colorado righty Tanner Gordon, so Cox could be in line for a short-side platoon role to begin his MLB career.
