  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Cruises to win

Feltner (3-10) allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 6.2 innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Feltner has had limited success this year, but he's allowed more than two runs just once in five starts since he returned from a shoulder injury. That span also includes two of his three wins on the year. Feltner has a 4.73 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 129:49 K:BB through 150.1 innings over 28 starts this year. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Cardinals.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Sharp in no-decision

Feltner didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Detroit, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out six. Feltner has now turned in back-to-back strong outings, allowing three runs on just five hits across 11.2 innings in that span. The right-hander's lowered his ERA to 4.89 on the campaign with a 1.39 WHIP and 127:47 K:BB across 27 starts (143.2 innings). Feltner's currently on track for a home matchup with the Diamondbacks early next week.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Earns first win since April

Feltner (2-10) earned the win Friday over the Brewers, allowing a run on two hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out six. Feltner was sharp Friday, holding Milwaukee to a lone second-inning run en route to his second win this season and his first since April 12 -- he'd gone 22 starts without a victory. Feltner now sports a 4.96 ERA this year with a 1.41 WHIP and 121:45 K:BB across 138 innings. The 28-year-old Feltner is currently scheduled to face the Cubs at home next week in his next outing.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Surrenders five runs in no-decision

Feltner did not factor into the decision in a win over the Orioles on Saturday, allowing five runs on six hits and one walk over 4.2 innings while striking out six. Feltner kept Baltimore off the scoreboard through the first three innings before allowing a leadoff single to Gunnar Henderson in the fourth, followed by a three-run homer off the bat of Anthony Santander three batters later. The right-hander would also go on to cough up a leadoff shot in the fifth, marking the third time in his last six starts that he's given up multiple home runs. Feltner was charged with five runs in the contest, the most he's allowed since June 19 against the Dodgers (span of nine starts) and he's still looking for his first win in over four months. On a positive note, Feltner did generate 12 whiffs on the night while posting six or more strikeouts for the fifth time in his last eight outings.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Activated, will start Monday

The Rockies activated Feltner (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Monday. Feltner is listed as the Rockies' probable starter for Monday's game at Coors Field against the Marlins after missing nearly three weeks with a right shoulder strain. The right-hander made one rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque, allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits and two walks over 2.2 innings. He threw only 49 pitches in the outing, so Feltner's workload will likely be limited Monday.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Begins rehab assignment

Feltner (shoulder) allowed five runs (three earned) over 2.2 innings in his first rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Feltner has missed most of August with a right shoulder strain but looks to be nearing a return. He got his pitch count up to just 49 in Wednesday's outing, so it's possible the Rockies will want him to make one more appearance before re-inserting the right-hander into their rotation.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Could throw off mound Saturday

Feltner (shoulder) said that he could throw a bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com reports. Placed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 8 with a right shoulder strain, Feltner appears to have a chance at returning from the shelf in the minimum length of time, or close to it. He said Friday that he's already resumed high-intensity throwing off flat ground, and advancing to mound work Saturday would represent another major step forward. The Rockies should shed light on the next steps for Feltner once he completes the side session.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Fans six in no-decision

Feltner allowed one run on four hits and four walks while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Saturday. Feltner pitched well, allowing a single run on a solo home run to Matt Chapman. He otherwise worked in and out of trouble in the no-decision. Feltner has looked good as of late, having tossed three quality starts in his last four outings. The 27-year-old's ERA currently sits at 4.99, dipping below 5.00 for the first time since his last win April 12.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Fans seven in no-decision

Feltner allowed four runs (all unearned) on two hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against St. Louis on Saturday. Feltner held the Cardinals scoreless through five frames but ran into trouble when the first two batters reached base against him in the sixth. The right-hander responded by striking out Masyn Winn, but his defense then let him down with errors on each of the following two balls hit in play. That led to Feltner's departure and spoiled his chance at what could have been his first victory since April 12. Despite the disappointing finish, this was a much-needed bounce-back effort from Feltner after he allowed a combined 15 runs (13 earned) across 9.2 innings over his previous two starts.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Hit hard in loss

Feltner allowed seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Guardians on Tuesday. Feltner finally had some struggles at Coors Field in his fourth home start of the campaign. Jose Ramirez tagged him for a two-run home run in the first inning and Josh Naylor added another two-run blast in the fifth. Feltner posted six scoreless innings against the Athletics in his previous start, but he took a step back Tuesday and continues to post poor numbers overall. He's at a 5.61 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 49:18 K:BB through 59.1 innings across 11 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Reds.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Good start wasted

Feltner allowed four hits and two walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Thursday. This was arguably Feltner's best start of the campaign, but it was all for nothing as six Rockies relievers all gave up at least one run. The Athletics rallied to erase three deficits before ultimately winning in the 11th inning. Feltner's winless skid is at seven games, and he remains 1-4 on the year with a 5.07 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 48:16 K:BB through 55 innings over 10 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Guardians.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Surrenders five runs in loss

Feltner (1-4) gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two over four-plus innings to take the loss Friday versus the Giants. This is the fifth time in nine starts Feltner has allowed at least four runs. The Rockies got off to a good start, but the right-hander gave it all back when he was tagged for a three-run home run by Thairo Estrada in the fifth inning. Feltner is now at a 5.69 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 42:14 K:BB through 49 innings this season. Oddly enough, he's been slightly worse away from Coors Field in 2024, but his next start is projected to come in Oakland.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Stumbles in ninth inning Tuesday

Feltner did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits over eight innings. He struck out three. Felter was dominant for most of Tuesday's outing, blanking the Marlins through eight frames. With the Rockies up 5-0, the 27-year-old Feltner started the ninth inning, eyeing the first complete game of his career. However, he was pulled after allowing the first three batters to reach in the inning before the bullpen imploded, ultimately allowing the Marlins to tie the game and costing Feltner a chance at a win. Despite the disappointing finish, it was an encouraging outing for Feltner overall after he allowed 10 runs over 9.1 innings in his previous two starts. He's 1-2 on the season with a 5.13 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 33:10 K:BB through six starts (33.1 innings).

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Endures nightmare first inning

Feltner (1-2) took the loss Wednesday, allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against Philadelphia. He struck out eight. The Phillies teed off on Feltner in the first inning, starting the game with back-to-back solo shots by Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner as part of a four-run frame. Though Feltner settled in afterward, the damage was already done. Wednesday's outing was the first hiccup in what's been a very successful start to the 2024 campaign for Feltner. Before facing the Phillies, Feltner had allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his three starts. He's lined up to make his next start Tuesday against the Padres at Coors Field.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Grabs first win

Feltner (1-1) earned the win Friday against the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four. Feltner allowed a run in each of the first two innings before settling in and holding Toronto scoreless over his final three frames as the Rockies erupted for 12 runs in a comfortable win. Feltner's gotten off to a nice start this year, posting a 3.38 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB through his first three outings (16 innings). However, the 27-year-old righty isn't likely to warrant fantasy consideration while pitching half the time at Coors Field -- Feltner struggled to a 5.82 ERA in 10 starts last season.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Handed first loss

Feltner (0-1) yielded five runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks over five innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against Arizona. Feltner struggled out of the gate Sunday, coughing up three runs in the first frame, including a two-run homer from Christian Walker. After following with three shutout innings, Feltner gave up two unearned runs in the fifth. The 27-year-old should have a spot in the rotation for now but shouldn't be trusted in most fantasy formats.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Ready to compete for rotation spot

Feltner (elbow) is healthy heading into spring training and will compete for a rotation spot, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Feltner had an injury-plagued 2023 campaign, first suffering a skull fracture after being struck by a line drive in mid-May. He ended the season on the injured list with elbow inflammation, but he has fully recovered and will be entering the spring at full strength. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll start the season in the majors or the rotation, as he posted a 5.82 ERA and 1.68 WHIP across 43.1 innings with the club in 2023. Peter Lambert and Noah Davis are the other primary candidates to be the team's fifth starter.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Placed on 15-day IL

The Rockies placed Feltner on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right elbow inflammation. Feltner started the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers and probably wasn't going to make another appearance either way. The 27-year-old right-hander finishes the 2023 campaign with a 5.82 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 38:28 K:BB in 10 major-league starts covering 43.1 innings.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Impressive in return

Feltner did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two hits and two walks over five scoreless innings in a 2-0 loss to the Padres. He struck out five. Feltner made his first appearance since May 13 after being hit in the head by a comebacker and fired off five scoreless innings Tuesday. Encouragingly, Feltner got up to 86 pitches and appeared to be fully stretched out. However, Feltner was never in contention for the win, as the Rockies were no-hit until the ninth inning. The 26-year-old is tentatively scheduled to take the mound Sunday during a road matchup with the Cubs.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Activated for start Tuesday

Feltner (head) was activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of his start Tuesday at San Diego. Feltner suffered a small skull fracture and a concussion when he was struck by a line drive May 13 against the Phillies, but he is back at full strength and can fit in a couple more turns in the Rockies' rotation before the conclusion of the 2023 campaign. The 27-year-old right-hander threw 66 pitches over 4.2 innings of one-run ball in his third and final minor-league rehab start last week with Triple-A Albuquerque.
