Rays' Jonathan Heasley: Outrighted to Triple-A
Heasley cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Heasley had a brief stint with the big-league club this week, allowing five runs over four innings in an appearance May 27. He was DFA'd on Friday and is now back with Durham. Heasley has a career 6.04 ERA over 143 major-league regular-season innings, so he's likely to serve as bullpen depth for when the big club needs an extra arm.

Rays' Jonathan Heasley: DFA'd by Tampa Bay
The Rays designated Heasley for assignment Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Tampa Bay is bringing up a fresh arm in Andrew Wantz, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move. Heasley threw 64 pitches across four innings of relief in Wednesday's 11-2 loss to the Orioles, allowing five runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.

Rays' Jonathan Heasley: Moves up from Triple-A
The Rays selected Heasley's contract from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday.
Heasley had been serving as a swingman at Durham this season, making seven appearances (four starts) while logging a 3.90 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 27.2 innings. Though he could eventually be an option in the Tampa Bay rotation, for the time being, Heasley is expected to settle into a bullpen role. He'll give the Rays another arm who's capable of covering multiple innings after Tampa Bay placed Jesse Scholtens (wrist) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Royals' Jonathan Heasley: Signs with Royals
Heasley signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Tuesday.
Heasley has been a free agent since the White Sox released him at the end of March and hasn't pitched in a game at any level this season. The 28-year-old righty owns a 5.89 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP through 139 career innings in the majors and will likely serve as organizational depth while pitching for Triple-A Omaha.

White Sox's Jonathan Heasley: Sent to minor-league camp
The White Sox reassigned Heasley to minor-league camp Monday.
Heasley, 28, attended camp as a non-roster invitee after he had previously turned in a 5.89 ERA and 89:55 K:BB in 139 career innings in the big leagues over parts of the last four seasons. Though he was sharp over his four Cactus League appearances in allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out three over four scoreless frames, Heasley will need to distinguish himself over a larger sample at Triple-A Charlotte before he gets a look with the White Sox.

White Sox's Jonathan Heasley: Gets NRI from ChiSox
The White Sox signed Heasley to a minor-league contract Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training.
Heasley made four relief appearances with the Orioles in 2024, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) over 5.1 innings. Slated to turn 28 later this month, Heasley has posted a 5.89 ERA and 89:55 K:BB across 139 innings at the major-league level.

Jonathan Heasley: Let go by O's
The Orioles released Heasley (shoulder) on Thursday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Heasley was DFA'd on Wednesday to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Chayce McDermott, and he'll now be sent into the open market after passing through waivers. The 27-year-old righty has been on the injured list at Triple-A Norfolk since June due to right shoulder inflammation, and the fact the Orioles had recently moved him to the 60-day IL suggests he won't be able to pitch until at least mid-August.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Removed from 40-man roster
The Orioles designated Heasley (shoulder) for assignment Wednesday.
The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Chayce McDermott, who was called up from Triple-A Norfolk to start Wednesday's game in Miami. Heasley had been on Triple-A Norfolk's 7-day injured list for more than a month with right shoulder inflammation and was recently transferred to the 60-day IL, so he won't be eligible to pitch again until at least mid-August.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Sidelined with shoulder issue
Triple-A Norfolk placed Heasley on its 7-day injured list Sunday with right shoulder inflammation, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
After a brief stint with the Orioles, Heasley returned to Norfolk on May 24 and posted a 6.75 ERA and 2.16 WHIP over three outings at Triple-A before landing on the IL. Heasley will be shut down for at least the next week while he waits for the inflammation in his shoulder to subside.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Optioned back down
Heasley was optioned down to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday by the Orioles.
Heasley will back back down to Norfolk just one day after being called up. The right-hander has struggled in his four appearances this season with the Orioles, giving up 10 earned runs and two home runs with a 4:3 K:BB across 5.1 innings.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Joins big-league bullpen
The Orioles recalled Heasley from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.
Heasley has been torched for seven runs (six earned) over 4.1 innings during his time with the Orioles this season. He's been much better at Norfolk, though, yielding just one run with an 18:4 K:BB in 20 frames. The right-hander should operate in middle relief.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Optioned to Triple-A
The Orioles optioned Heasley to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.
Heasley was hit around by the Brewers' lineup during Friday's blowout loss, allowing six earned runs on seven hits and a walk across two innings. He'll look to get back on track in the minors, but with a 5.67 career ERA, it's unlikely the 27-year-old is trusted with important MLB innings anytime soon. His departure from the active roster will make room for Yohan Ramirez, who was traded to Baltimore from the Mets on Thursday.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Takes extra-innings loss
Heasley (0-1) allowed an unearned run on one hit over one-third of an inning to take the extra-innings loss in a 5-4 defeat against the Pirates on Saturday.
The Orioles pretty much depleted the bullpen Saturday -- Heasley was the seventh reliever to pitch in the game. He logged two scoreless and hitless innings in his season debut Tuesday, but he gave up a walk-off single to Oneil Cruz in the 11th inning Saturday. Heasley joined the Orioles' bullpen when Cionel Perez (oblique) landed on the injured list, but it's unlikely Heasley sees much work beyond appearances late in extra innings and multi-inning relief assignments.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Recalled from Triple-A
Heasley was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.
Heasley is getting recalled with Cionel Perez (oblique) landing on the 15-day injured list. The 27-year-old was optioned to minor-league camp after posting a 3.52 ERA and 4:2 K:BB over 7.2 innings in spring training. The righty last played in the majors for Kansas City last season, recording a 7.20 ERA in 15 innings.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Sent to minors
The Orioles optioned Heasley to minor-league camp Sunday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
The right-hander had a 3.52 ERA and 4:2 K:BB over 7.2 innings during spring training but won't be included on Baltimore's Opening Day roster. Heasley was acquired from the Royals in December and had a 7.20 ERA across 15 frames for Kansas City last season.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Rough start to spring
Heasley has allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with one strikeout over three Grapefruit League innings.
Heasley's given up one home run. The 27-year-old right-hander was acquired by the Orioles in a trade from the Royals in December. Assuming the Orioles carry just one multi-inning option in the bullpen to begin 2024, Heasley appears to be behind Keegan Akin for that role, though both players figure to be part of the organization's plans this season.

Orioles' Jonathan Heasley: Traded to Baltimore
The Orioles acquired Heasley from the Royals on Monday in exchange for Cesar Espinal, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Heasley was moved to the bullpen full-time in June last season and flashed some promise, but the results ultimately weren't there, as he held a 7.20 ERA and 9:2 K:BB over 15 innings during his time with the big club. The Orioles obviously see some potential with the righty and will try to coax more out of him.

Royals' Jonathan Heasley: Optioned to Triple-A
Heasley was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.
Heasley had been in the majors since early July. In his first seven appearances of his latest big-league stint, he allowed just one earned run in seven innings, but he's given up nine earned runs (including five homers) in 5.1 innings across his last four outings. He'll sort things out in the minors, with Max Castillo taking his place in the bullpen.

Royals' Jonathan Heasley: Summoned to majors
Heasley was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.
Heasley struggled in his lone appearance with the Royals this season and also holds a 7.51 ERA this year at Omaha. He'll provide the bullpen with some length.

Royals' Jonathan Heasley: Headed back to minors
The Royals optioned Heasley to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.
Heasley tossed 2.2 innings and 38 pitches out of the bullpen in Friday's 12-8 loss to Oakland and wasn't likely to be available for another day or two, so the Royals are opting to move him off the 26-man active roster in favor of a fresh arm in Max Castillo, who was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old Heasley should reclaim a rotation spot as he heads back to Omaha.
