Reds president of baseball operations Nick Krall said Tuesday that India had surgery to "clean up" his ankle after the season ended, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
India's procedure is considered a minor one that will allow him to have a normal offseason and be ready for spring training. India initially remained in the game after being beaned with a Tanner Bibee pitch in the fifth inning, but he was later removed. For what it's worth, India indicated after the contest that he expects to be fine, but he will be monitored closely. India went 0-for-1 with a walk before departing.
