  • Mets' Billy Amick: Dealt to Mets

The Mets acquired Amick and Bruin Agbayani from the Twins on Thursday in exchange for A.J. Minter, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. Amick has spent the entire 2026 season at Double-A and is slashing .217/.338/.482 with 23 homers, 72 RBI, 60 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 50:108 BB:K across 379 plate appearances. The 23-year-old corner infield prospect was a second-round pick out of Tennessee two years back and has some power upside.

  • Twins' Billy Amick: Returns from IL

High-A Cedar Rapids reinstated Amick (oblique) from the 7-day injured list Monday. Amick has been cleared to make his return to the Cedar Rapids lineup for the first time since April 30 after he had been sidelined for seven weeks with a left oblique strain. The 22-year-old infielder was activated after he completed a six-game rehab assignment between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Fort Myers.

  • Twins' Billy Amick: Shelved with oblique strain

High-A Cedar Rapids placed Amick on its 7-day injured list May 2 due to a left oblique strain. The 22-year-old infielder slashed .338/.465/.442 with 14 runs and 12 RBI over 99 plate appearances before being shelved with the injury.

  • Twins' Billy Amick: Hot start at High-A

Amick is batting .388/.465/.442 in 21 games for High-A Cedar Rapids. Amick was the 60th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, but he didn't impress in his first brief professional season. He hit just .222 with .764 OPS in 18 games at Single-A Fort Myers last year, though he did have a strong 16.0 percent walk rate. He's kept that up with a 16.3 percent walk rate this season, though he does have a concerning 27.3 percent strikeout rate. A continued strong first half of the season could see him promoted to Double-A later this summer since he's a 22-year old out of college (Tennessee) and may be a bit old for his level.
