    The Mets acquired Spikerman and Luke Gabrysh from the Phillies on Monday in exchange for Brooks Raley, Jayson Stark of The Athletic reports. Spikerman has slashed .260/.419/.340 with zero home runs, 18 stolen bases and a 26:30 BB:K over 30 games this season with High-A Jersey Shore. The 23-year-old speedster is capable of playing all three outfield spots.

  • Phillies' John Spikerman: Healthy at High-A level

    High-A Jersey Shore activated Spikerman (ankle) from the 7-day injured list Thursday. Spikerman missed about a month of action with an ankle injury, but he's back with Jersey Shore after making a pair of rehab appearances for Single-A Clearwater. Over 125 plate appearances for the High-A club, the switch-hitting outfielder is slashing .253/.405/.337 with four doubles, two triples, nine RBI and 18 stolen bases.

  • Phillies' John Spikerman: Healthy again at Single-A

    High-A Jersey Shore activated Spikerman (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list July 2 and assigned him to Single-A Clearwater. The 22-year-old outfielder shifted his rehab assignment to the Florida State League on June 25 and will end up sticking around with the affiliate after Jersey Shore didn't have an opening for him on its roster. Over his 10 games with Clearwater this season, Spikerman has slashed .242/.359/.424 with two home runs and three stolen bases.

    Spikerman was placed on High-A Jersey Shore's 7-day injured list April 4 due to an unspecified injury. A 2024 draft pick, Spikerman has yet to debut in the South Atlantic League while he tends to an unspecified injury. He appeared to be on the cusp of a return to Jersey Shore after beginning a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on May 3 before moving up to Single-A Clearwater, but he's been out of action since May 7.
