Player Outlook
The Dodgers appear to have pulled one over on the Reds in last offseason's deal that sent Mike Sirota and a future pick to the Dodgers in exchange for Gavin Lux, who was worth 0.3 fWAR in 140 games in 2025. While Lux was performing at a replacement level in the majors, Sirota was showcasing all five tools in the lower minors. While the Dodgers have a handful of high-end outfield prospects, Sirota stands out for being a right-handed hitter with strong defensive chops, whereas Josue De Paula's defense is suspect and Zyhir Hope's handedness portends an early-career platoon. The 6-foot-2 Sirota is a patient hitter (37.0 Swing%) who gets the ball in the air (37.7 GB%) and doesn't swing and miss too much (9.4 SwStr%). While he only stole five bases last year, Sirota is a plus runner who averaged a steal every three games his last two years at Northeastern. A knee injury ended his season in July, and he will reportedly be ready for spring training, although it's not clear if he had surgery on the knee. Sirota turns 23 in June, so he'll need to perform at Double-A and Triple-A, but he has the look of a five-category fantasy outfielder who should spend most or all of 2027 in the majors

Fantasy News

  • Dodgers' Mike Sirota: On 60-day IL

High-A Great Lakes transferred Sirota from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day IL on July 13 after he suffered an apparent right knee injury while sliding into a base July 5, Bruce Kuntz of DodgersDigest.com reports. Though it's not clear if Sirota will require surgery, his 2025 season is likely over, unless he makes it back for the Arizona Fall League. He may have been promoted to Double-A Tulsa at some point this summer if he hadn't suffered the injury, as he was slashing .316/.458/.556 with six home runs and four steals in 35 games for Great Lakes.
