  • White Sox's Tyson Miller: Goes to White Sox as NRI

The White Sox signed Miller to a minor-league contract Jan. 15 that includes an invitation to spring training. After posting a 2.32 ERA and 54:11 K:BB over 62 innings between the Mariners and Cubs in 2024, Miller took a major step back in 2025. He missed ample time with a hip injury and, when healthy, never escaped Triple-A Iowa, where he was torched for a 6.27 ERA and 36:34 K:BB in 37.1 frames. Miller could bounce back and win a spot in the White Sox' bullpen, though the chances are better he opens the 2026 season at Triple-A Charlotte.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Sent outright to Triple-A

The Cubs outrighted Miller to Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday. The fact that Miller cleared waivers after being removed from the Cubs' 40-man roster is somewhat surprising, given his impressive 2.32 ERA and 0.81 WHIP across 62 innings last season. Miller has the ability to elect free agency since he's been outrighted previously, but it's unclear what his plans are.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Reinstated, DFA'd by Cubs

The Cubs reinstated Miller (hip) from the 60-day injured list Thursday and designated him for assignment, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Miller has been on the injured list all season due to a left hip impingement. He began a rehab assignment in the minors April 15 and has since posted a 2.77 ERA and 1.69 WHIP across 13 innings at Triple-A Iowa. Despite his strong performance in the minors, the Cubs will push the 29-year-old off their 40-man roster and expose him to waivers. Miller finished last season with a dominant 2.32 ERA and 0.81 WHIP across 62 innings between Chicago and Seattle, so he'll likely attract interest on the waiver wire.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Shifted to 60-day injured list

The Cubs transferred Miller (hip) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports. Miller has been out all season with a left hip impingement. He's allowed five runs (four earned) over 8.2 innings on a rehab assignment and will be eligible for activation May 20.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Goes on 15-day IL

The Cubs placed Miller on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left hip impingement. Miller will be eligible for activation April 5, but it's not clear whether he might be ready by then. The right-handed reliever posted a 2.15 ERA and 42:10 K:BB over 50.1 innings for the Cubs last season and is pegged for middle relief once healthy.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: May see less high-leverage work

With the Cubs trading for Ryan Brasier on Wednesday, per Jeff Passan of ESPN.com, and adding Caleb Thielbar, Eli Morgan and Ryan Pressly earlier in the offseason, Miller may see less high-leverage work in 2025. Porter Hodge was closing games for the Cubs at the end of last season, but Miller was seeing important setup work ahead of him. The veteran Pressly now figures to get the first shot at the closer role, which would presumably push Hodge into eighth-inning work. Brasier, Morgan and Thielbar are also all experienced relievers with successful track records, giving manager Craig Counsell some options to choose from toward the end of games. Miller was effective for the Cubs in 2024, posting a 2.15 ERA across 50.1 innings of relief, so he figures to still have a key role even with the added competition, though he may get knocked down a few rungs in the bullpen.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Rough outing again Tuesday

Miller allowed three runs on two hits and a walk across an inning of relief in Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Pirates. Chicago already trailed 2-0 when Miller came on in the seventh inning, so the righty didn't take the loss, though he didn't help his team's cause, either. Miller allowed a three-run bomb to Jared Triolo, who has just a .599 OPS this season, to cap off the rough outing. This is the second time in his last three appearances that Miller has allowed three runs, but he still has a strong 2.61 ERA overall, so it's probably not time to hit the panic button quite yet.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Picks up win Friday

Miller (4-1) tossed a scoreless 10th inning to earn the win out of the bullpen Friday against the Blue Jays. After Hector Neris blew the save by allowing three runs in the ninth inning, Miller picked Chicago up with a much better 10th, needing just five pitches to shut the door on Toronto. The righty has been solid this season, as he now has a 1.83 ERA and 0.77 WHIP across 44.1 innings for the Cubs and Mariners. If Neris gets pulled from the closer role due to his middling performance, Miller could be a candidate to see save opportunities, though Porter Hodge is probably ahead of him right now in the bullpen pecking order.

  • Mariners' Tyson Miller: Could be call-up candidate

Miller, who was impressive during Cactus League play and has a 2.25 ERA over his first four appearances with Triple-A Tacoma, is a likely candidate for promotion if Collin Snider (knee) is forced to miss time, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports. Snider took a 102 mph comebacker to his left knee in Sunday's loss to the Brewers, resulting a kneecap contusion. If Snider is deemed unavailable for at least the next several days, the Mariners would be likely to call up a reliever to remain on the taxi squad during the three-game series that begins in Toronto on Monday. Given Miller has been able to carry over his spring success into Tacoma for the time being, he could be the best candidate the team has for such a move.

  • Mariners' Tyson Miller: Signs minors contract with Seattle

Miller signed a minor-league contract Friday with the Mariners, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. Miller elected to become a free agent in October after being pushed off the Dodgers' 40-man roster. The 28-year-old right-hander has mostly struggled in his time at the major-league level, but he posted a decent 3.50 ERA and 50:15 K:BB over 43.2 innings this past season in Triple-A.

  • Dodgers' Tyson Miller: Outrighted to Triple-A

Miller was sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday. Miller was designated for assignment by Los Angeles on Wednesday and he has now been outrighted to Triple-A. The right-hander has produced a 4.70 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 15.1 innings in 10 appearances between the Dodgers, Brewers and Mets this season.

  • Mets' Tyson Miller: Nabs win in team debut

Miller (1-0) earned the win Monday against the Pirates. He allowed two walks over two scoreless innings. Miller made a positive first impression in his Mets debut after being called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. The right-hander worked around a pair of walks, delivering two scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season. Miller now sports a 5.40 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB across 13.1 innings this season between the Mets, Dodgers and Brewers. He'll likely fill a middle-relief role in New York going forward.

  • Mets' Tyson Miller: Gets call to NYM

The Mets recalled Miller from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. Miller holds a 6.35 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through 11.1 innings in the majors this season, and he will now be called upon for his Mets debut. Miller pitched in just one game with Triple-A Syracuse and threw 1.1 scoreless frames while striking out two batters. Denyi Reyes was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' Tyson Miller: Heads back to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Miller lost his spot on the 26-man roster to right-hander Lance Lynn, whom the Dodgers acquired in a trade with the White Sox on Friday. During his brief stay with Los Angeles, Miller made one two-inning appearance out of the bullpen, giving up two earned runs on three hits and one walk.

  • Dodgers' Tyson Miller: Brought up from Triple-A

Miller was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. The Dodgers acquired Miller from the Brewers earlier this month, but he'll be up with the big club for the first time since the trade. He tossed three scoreless innings during his time with Oklahoma City.

  • Dodgers' Tyson Miller: Acquired by Dodgers

The Dodgers acquired Miller from the Brewers on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Miller had been designated for assignment after posting a 5.79 ERA over 9.1 innings this season in the majors. He'll report to Triple-A Oklahoma City for the time being.

  • Brewers' Tyson Miller: Optioned to Nashville

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. Miller was brought up from Triple-A on June 9 after injuries to Bennett Sousa (shoulder) and Jake Cousins (shoulder), and he will return to Nashville with the return of Wade Miley (lat) on Saturday. Miller made two appearances during his latest stint with the Brewers, throwing two scoreless innings while striking out two batters and walking one.

  • Brewers' Tyson Miller: Optioned out to Triple-A

Milwaukee optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Friday. Miller was lit up for four earned runs over two innings of relief in the Brewers' loss to the Giants on Thursday. Ethan Small will take his spot in the bullpen Friday.

  • Brewers' Tyson Miller: Sent to Triple-A

Miller was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Miller was called up from Nashville in late April and appeared in three games during his time with the Brewers, allowing one run on three hits with two strikeouts and no walks across 4.2 innings. He has a 1.42 ERA over 12.2 frames at Triple-A this year and should rejoin the big club at some point later in the season.

  • Brewers' Tyson Miller: Sent to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Miller will retain a spot on the 40-man roster heading into Opening Day, but he'll fall short on winning a spot in Milwaukee's season-opening bullpen. The 28-year-old covered 10.2 innings at the big-league level with the Rangers in 2022, giving up 13 earned runs on 16 hits and eight walks.
