  Doyle was diagnosed with a sprained left wrist Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Doyle has been held out of Cactus League action since he was scratched from Wednesday's lineup with a wrist injury. Now that imaging has confirmed he suffered a sprain, the Rockies will keep him on the bench for a few more days before taking another look at him.

  Doyle underwent imaging on his left wrist after the injury forced him to be scratched from Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Cubs, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. The Rockies had said previously that Doyle being scratched was precautionary, but him being sent for imaging suggests there's some level of concern. The results of the imaging are not in yet but might be available later Thursday. If Doyle is forced to miss time, the Rockies could shift Jake McCarthy over to center field.

Doyle had been slated to start in center field and bat cleanup, but Drew Avans will instead take his spot in the field and the batting order. The Rockies have described Doyle's removal from the lineup as precautionary and said that it doesn't stem from him being hit by a pitch during Monday's game against the White Sox. Doyle was back in the lineup for the first time since last Tuesday, and though the Rockies hadn't provided an explanation for his absence, the outfielder had been nursing a sore right shoulder, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com. The shoulder injury disrupted what had been one of the more productive stretches of the season for Doyle -- he had gone 7-for-13 with two runs, one RBI and one steal in his first four starts of the second half -- but he was able to make some positive contributions in Monday's series opener. In addition to reaching on a bunt single in the top of the third, Doyle plated the game-tying run on a sacrifice bunt in the top of the ninth and reached base on a throwing error. He then came around to score the go-ahead run on Tyler Freeman's one-out base hit.
