Carrillo has spent the entire season at Triple-A Syracuse, turning in a 5.57 ERA and 2.10 WHIP alongside a 31:26 K:BB across 21 innings. He'll now be stripped of his 40-man roster spot to make room for Jorge Polanco's (Achilles) return from the 60-day injured list. Assuming Carrillo clears waivers, he'll likely remain an organizational depth piece for the remainder of the year.

The Mets optioned Carrillo to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.
The right-hander received his first taste of the majors last year and surrendered seven earned runs across 4.2 frames with the Mets. Carrillo delivered a scoreless frame in his lone appearance in the Grapefruit League but won't stick around big-league camp.
