LaMarcus Aldridge: Announces retirement
Aldridge announced his retirement from basketball Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Aldridge attempted to make an NBA comeback earlier this season and worked out for the Mavericks in February, but he ultimately never got a contract. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft was a seven-time All-Star and averaged over 20.0 points and 8.0 rebounds seven times during his 16-year career.

LaMarcus Aldridge: Set to work out for Dallas
Aldridge is scheduled to work out for the Mavericks on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The 37-year-old big man is attempting to make his way back into the NBA, and while he shouldn't be expected to command much fantasy value if he signs with Dallas, he could provide some added depth to a frontcourt that's currently missing Davis Bertans (calf) and Maxi Kleber (hamstring) due to injuries. While with the Nets last season, Aldridge averaged 12.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 block over 22.3 minutes per game across 47 appearances.

Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Makes first appearance in a month
Aldridge closed Tuesday's 118-105 win over the Rockets with zero points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist over 17 minutes.
Aldridge was cleared to play March 27 against the Hornets after missing the Nets' preceding nine games with a right hip impingement, but he registered four straight DNP-CDs following his removal from the injury report. The veteran's return to the rotation was lackluster at best as he was held scoreless across 17 minutes. Before the hip issue, Aldridge had scored in double figures in seven of his last nine appearances, but currently, it appears like Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton have a stronghold on the center position.

Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Remains out of rotation
Aldridge (coach's decision) went unused in Sunday's 122-115 loss to the Hawks.
Aldridge was cleared to play March 27 against the Hornets after missing the Nets' preceding nine games with a right hip impingement, but he still has yet to return to the Brooklyn lineup. With four straight games in which he didn't see the court in coach's decisions, Aldridge simply looks to be out of head coach Steve Nash's rotation at the moment. Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton look poised to finish the regular season as the Nets' primary centers.

Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Not listed on injury report
Aldridge (hip) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Hornets.
Aldridge is expected to return to action following a nine-game absence due to a hip injury. It's unclear how big of a role the veteran may have, but it's certainly encouraging to see him back in the mix.
