  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Records double-double in loss

Lyles finished Monday's 109-108 loss to the Hawks with 12 points (4-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and one steal across 38 minutes. With Domantas Sabonis (back) sidelined, Lyles has started in the Kings' last two games, and he's responded with back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts. He's been a good filler in the Kings' starting lineup, but his upside will likely only last while he's playing as a starter.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Fills in for Sabonis with 17 points

Lyles contributed 17 points (6-9 FG, 5-7 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one block in 35 minutes during Saturday's 121-117 win over the Jazz. Filling in for Domantas Sabonis (back) is a tall order, but Lyles was solid in relief. He lurked at the perimeter often in the victory, drilling five three-pointers in a rare display of sharpshooting. Sabonis should return soon, but Lyles' performance gives the Kings confidence that they're well-covered at the position.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Starting Saturday

Lyles is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Jazz. The Kings will shake things up in the frontcourt with the absence of Domantas Sabonis (back), and Lyles will get the nod at center instead of Alex Len, who got the nod in the loss to the Timberwolves on Friday. This will be Lyles' first start of the 2024-25 campaign. He's averaging 4.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game this season.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Scores season-high 13 points

Lyles racked up 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt), five rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 127-104 victory over Phoenix. Lyles' efficient shooting from beyond the arc helped him record a season-high 13 points off the bench in Wednesday's blowout win over Phoenix. However, the 29-year-old forward is shooting just 33.3 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three in 2024-25.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Hits two three-pointers

Lyles produced eight points (3-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt), four rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 27 minutes during Monday's 116-96 loss to San Antonio. It's no secret that Lyles has had a quiet start to the campaign. Through 11 appearances, he's hitting just 28.0 percent from the field and 24.3 percent from beyond the arc. His counting stats have been low too, as he's averaging 4.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.8 three-pointers in 15.9 minutes.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Modest role continues

Lyles accumulated five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and one rebound over 16 minutes during Monday's 111-110 win over the Heat. Lyles has played between 11 and 20 minutes in each of the Kings' seven games thus far, averaging 4.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals-plus-blocks in 16.1 minutes per contest. The veteran is a solid role player but can't be trusted for consistent production.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Limited minutes off bench in opener

Lyles (groin) played 11 minutes and finished with three points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one steal in Thursday's 117-115 loss to the Timberwolves. Though he missed all of the preseason while managing a groin strain, Lyles was cleared for the regular-season opener and was the Kings' first frontcourt player off the bench, as he checked into the game for Keegan Murray with 3:29 remaining in the first quarter. Neither Lyles nor fellow reserve big man Alex Len (six minutes) saw much run, however, as the Kings leaned heavily on Murray (43 minutes) and Domantas Sabonis (38 minutes). Lyles would likely need an injury to hit one of the Kings' two frontcourt starters before he sees enough meaningful playing time to warrant attention in most fantasy leagues.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Cleared for Thursday

Lyles (groin) is available for Thursday's game versus Minnesota, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Lyles suffered a left groin strain at the end of September, and while the injury limited him throughout training camp, the 28-year-old is ready for regular-season action. He profiles as Sacramento's only true forward behind Keegan Murray.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Participates in walkthrough

Lyles (groin) walked through the offense with coaches following Wednesday's practice session, Matt George of ABC 10 Sacramento reports. Lyles is battling a groin injury he suffered during offseason workouts, which has kept him out of training camp. The hope for Lyles is he will be available for the start of the 2024-25 regular season, though his minutes could be restricted as he catches up on his conditioning. He's slated to provide frontcourt depth behind Domantas Sabonis, Keegan Murray and Alex Len.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Suffers groin strain

Lyles suffered a left groin strain during offseason workouts and is expected to be sidelined for three weeks, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. When healthy, Lyles projects to provide frontcourt depth this season in Sacramento behind Domantas Sabonis and Alex Len. Thus, Lyles looks to be a fringe-rotational player. His timeline for recovery should lead to a return just before the start of the regular season tipping off, barring any setbacks. However, he may be behind on his conditioning at that point.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Overcoming illness

Lyles (illness) is available for Sunday's regular-season finale versus Portland, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Lyles will suit up for his ninth consecutive contest Sunday, joining a fully healthy Kings frontcourt. Sacramento is destined for the Play-In Tournament, but the exact seeding remains on the line.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Battling illness

Lyles is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers with an illness. Lyles didn't appear on the Kings' initial injury report for the regular-season finale that was released Saturday, so the illness may have been something that cropped up overnight. The Kings will likely see how he recovers over the next few hours before making a decision on his status shortly before the 3:30 p.m. ET tipoff. Since making his return to action March 31 following a nine-game absence due to a left knee sprain, Lyles has appeared in each of Sacramento's last eight contests while averaging 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 three-pointers, 0.6 blocks and 0.5 steals in 21.5 minutes.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Posts 11 points in return

Lyles (knee) logged 11 points (3-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one block across 19 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 127-106 win over the Jazz. Making his return from a nine-game absence due to a left knee sprain, Lyles led the Kings' second unit in scoring thanks largely to his hot shooting display from downtown. Though Lyles has split time between both frontcourt spots this season, his minutes largely came as a backup power forward Sunday while Alex Len logged 12 minutes behind starting center Alex Len. Since Len doesn't present much of a perimeter scoring threat, Lyles could have the opportunity to see reserve minutes at both power forward and center if head coach Mike Brown elects to tighten his rotation in future games. With that in mind, Lyles might be someone to keep an eye on over the final two weeks of the regular season in case his role expands. For the time being, though, his fantasy utility will mostly be contained to deeper leagues.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Questionable to face Utah

Lyles (knee) is questionable to face the Jazz on Sunday. Lyles could return after missing the previous nine games due to a lingering knee sprain. The power forward hasn't stepped on the court since March 12. He's averaging just 5.3 points and 3.9 rebounds across 18.6 minutes per game since the All-Star break, so his return shouldn't impact many fantasy decisions either way.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Out at least two weeks

The Kings announced Friday that Lyles will be re-evaluated in two weeks while he contends with an MCL sprain his left knee, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. Lyles suffered the injury during the second quarter of Tuesday's win over the Bucks. Given his two-week re-evaluated timeline, Lyles will presumably miss at least the Kings' next eight games. In Lyles' absence in Wednesday's 120-107 win over the Lakers, Chris Duarte reclaimed a spot in Sacramento's rotation, though he played just eight minutes.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Doesn't practice Friday

Lyles (knee) didn't participate in Friday's practice but did put up flat-footed shots afterward, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Lyles missed Sacramento's previous contest due to a left knee sprain. Lyles' inability to practice is a bad sign of his availability for Saturday's matchup with the Knicks.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Won't play Wednesday

Lyles (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Lakers. Lyles left Tuesday's win over the Bucks early after bumping knees with Brook Lopez on a rebound, and the former will miss at least one additional game after being diagnosed with a left knee sprain. The veteran's next chance to suit up will come Saturday versus the Knicks.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Out for remainder of game

Lyles won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Bucks due to a left knee injury. He'll finish the contest with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and four rebounds in eight minutes Lyles injured his knee after bumping into Brook Lopez on a rebound. With Keegan Murray (knee) already out, Alex Len and Kessler Edwards are candidates to receive increased minutes off the bench the rest of the night.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Gets boards in win

Lyles chipped in seven points (3-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and one assist across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 130-120 win over the Lakers. Lyles is averaging 5.6 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 22.2 percent from three in 20.0 minutes since the All-Star break. This is a far cry to his first 39 games played this season where the forward averaged 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds on 40.5 percent from deep in 20.0 minutes. Due to the lack of depth at the forward position, expect Lyles to continue receiving opportunities off the bench.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Set to play against Denver

Lyles (illness) is available for Wednesday's game versus the Nuggets, Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports. Lyles has been upgraded from questionable to available Wednesday after missing Sacramento's previous contest with a non-COVID illness. Lyles is averaging 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 20.1 minutes across his last 10 appearances.
