Brown recorded 20 points (8-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, a steal and two blocks across 31 minutes in Friday's 125-120 preseason loss to the Celtics.
Brown delivered a productive performance despite Philadelphia's defeat, shooting efficiently from the field while contributing strong numbers in other categories. The forward struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just one of his five attempts, but remained effective attacking the basket. Brown (rest) won't suit up for Saturday's preseason game in Boston, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.
Brown will skip his first meeting against his former team in Boston, but he should be able to get back out there for Friday's rematch with the Celtics. Justin Edwards and Dean Wade will help pick up the slack Saturday with Brown unavailable.

After scoring 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting during his 76ers preseason debut Monday, Brown turned in another productive performance on the offensive end. The star forward led all players in scoring and ranked second on the Sixers in free throws made while knocking down all of his attempts from the charity stripe. Through two preseason outings, he's totaled 40 points, four rebounds and four assists in 41 minutes.

The star forward didn't play in the second half but still erupted for a game-high 22 points, scoring 13 in the first quarter alone. Brown will make his 76ers debut in Monday's preseason game against the Knicks, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
Among others, LeBron James, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey will all sit out the Sixers' preseason opener, though Brown will suit up. The star forward was traded to Philadelphia on July 1 following a career year with Boston in 2025-26, during which he averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.0 steals across 34.4 minutes per game in 71 regular-season outings.

76ers' Jaylen Brown: Learning new system in Philly
Brown stated Thursday that he's in the process of learning an entire new system in Philadelphia, Chris Hine of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Brown noted that he's been grateful for his teammate Tyrese Maxey during the install, as Maxey has reportedly been an excellent communicator and leader to start camp, per Austin Krell of OnPattison.com. The 29-year-old will have a few more weeks to get used to this new system before the 76ers open the 2026-27 season against the Knicks on Oct. 20.
