  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Plays well off bench

Watkins provided seven points (2-5 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal over 16 minutes during Thursday's 136-131 overtime loss to the Magic. Watkins returned from a four-game absence after battling a sprained ankle and foot. He's made a strong impact for the Wizards, but his fantasy appeal will be limited when the team is close to full strength.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Cleared to play Thursday

Watkins (ankle/foot) is off the injury report for Thursday's game against Orlando. Watkins is set to return from a four-game absence due to a sprained ankle and foot. The rookie wing is averaging 5.9 points and 3.5 rebounds across 18.7 minutes per game this season.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Won't go Tuesday

Watkins (ankle/foot) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Heat. Watkins is set to miss a fourth straight game due to a sprained left ankle and foot. The rookie second-rounder's next opportunity to suit up will come Thursday in Orlando. Meanwhile, Leaky Black may continue to play meaningful minutes.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Ruled out for Sunday

Watkins (ankle/foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Pelicans. Watkins will miss a third consecutive contest due to a sprained left foot and ankle. His next opportunity to play will come Tuesday in Miami. With the rookie second-rounder sidelined, Will Riley, Justin Champagnie and Leaky Black are candidates for increased minutes.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Ruled out for Thursday

Watkins (ankle/foot) is out for Thursday's game against the Jazz. Watkins is set to miss a second straight game due to a left ankle/foot sprain. He had been averaging 21.0 minutes per game over his last five appearances, so the Wizards should have some extra playing time available for some of their depth wings.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Out for Tuesday

Watkins has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Magic due to a left ankle sprain. Watkins had been included in the Wizards' rotation for the past two games but may have tweaked his ankle at some point during Monday's 123-118 loss to the Rockets. With Kyshawn George (elbow) joining Watkins in street clothes Tuesday, the Wizards will likely lean on Will Riley, Jaden Hardy, Bilal Coulibaly and Tre Johnson as their primary options on the wing.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Left out of rotation Thursday

Watkins (coach's decision) went unused off the bench in Thursday's 126-96 loss to Atlanta. Despite being upgraded from his two-way deal to a standard contract earlier Thursday, Watkins ended up exiting head coach Brian Keefe's 10-man rotation. Rather than Watkins, Keefe turned to two-way player Leaky Black (30 minutes) to fill out the second unit. With the 16-42 Wizards playing out the string on a non-contending season, expect the team's rotations to be highly volatile from game to game, making players like Watkins difficult to rely upon in both DFS and as streaming options in season-long fantasy leagues.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Heading to bench

Watkins is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Indiana. It'll instead be Tristan Vukcevic manning the middle for the Wizards on Thursday. Watkins has averaged 9.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in 29.2 minutes per tilt in his last seven games (two starts).

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Starting Wednesday

Watkins will start Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers. With the Wizards shorthanded in the frontcourt, Watkins will step back into the starting five. • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Will not start vs. Milwaukee

Watkins won't start against the Bucks on Wednesday. With Khris Middleton (knee) back in action, Watkins will slide to the second unit. In his last five appearances off the bench, the rookie second-rounder has averaged 4.6 points and 3.8 rebounds across 15.2 minutes per tilt.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Chance to play Sunday

Watkins (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Spurs. An illness prevented Watkins from playing in Saturday's win over the Grizzlies, but the rookie second-rounder has a chance to return for the back end of the Wizards' back-to-back set Sunday. Tre Johnson, Justin Champagnie and Bub Carrington would be in line for more playing time off the bench if Watkins is not cleared to play.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Won't play Saturday

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Under the weather

Watkins (illness) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Grizzlies. Watkins is in jeopardy of missing Saturday's road tilt while battling an illness. He has averaged 17.0 minutes per game over the Wizards' last five games, so his absence would lead to more minutes being available for Justin Champagnie, Tre Johnson and Bub Carrington.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Five swipes in SL finale

Watkins tallied 23 points (8-18 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and five steals across 34 minutes during Saturday's 94-85 Summer League win against the Knicks. Watkins was a menace defensively once again, as he led the way with a game-high total in the steals category. The Florida State product came two swipes shy of the seven he had against the 76ers on July 15, as he finishes the Las Vegas Summer League on a high note.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Records seven swipes in SL loss

Watkins struggled with efficiency on offense but made a major impact defensively, racking up eight steals and three blocks. The wing was taken No. 43 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft after a strong season at Florida State, where he averaged 18.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals across 32 games.

  • Wizards' Jamir Watkins: Taken by Washington

Watkins was selected by the Wizards with the No. 43 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Watkins put together a highly productive 2024-25 campaign at Florida State, posting averages of 18.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from beyond the arc over 32 games. While he may not project as a go-to scorer at the next level, the former Seminole is a strong athlete with excellent instincts and feel for the game. Watkins becomes the third player selected by the Wizards in the draft, joining Tre Johnson (No. 6) and Will Riley (No. 21).
