  • Hornets' Sion James: Strong line in win

James contributed 11 points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one block over 24 minutes during Tuesday's 103-101 win over the Trail Blazers. James put together a solid line Tuesday as the Hornets improved to 33-33 on the season. The rookie had scored a combined 12 points in his previous three games, so he's got some work to do to get back onto the fantasy radar.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Provides spark in win

James accumulated 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, two steals and one assist in 24 minutes during Tuesday's 117-90 win over the Mavericks. With Coby White (calf) unavailable for the front end of this back-to-back set, James saw a bump in minutes and led the second unit in scoring. The rookie second-rounder also tied the team-best mark in rebounds, matching his career high. James will likely see fewer minutes when White returns to action, as the former has yet to log more than 20 minutes when White is available.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Starting Friday

James will start Friday's game against the Cavaliers. The Hornets will deploy a smaller starting lineup against Cleveland due to Grant Williams (knee) joining Miles Bridges (suspension) and Moussa Diabate (suspension) on the sidelines. As a starter this season (18 games), James has averaged 6.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 29.0 minutes per contest.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Limited impact in win

James accumulated five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds and two assists over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 112-97 win over Memphis. Although James continues to see decent workloads for the Hornets, his impact in fantasy hoops has been minimal. Over his last four games, he's seeing 19.3 minutes per contest with 4.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 33.3 percent from the field.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Headed to bench

James will come off the bench for Thursday's game in Orlando. LaMelo Ball will return to the starting unit after coming off the bench in Wednesday's loss to Cleveland, which will result in James heading back to the second unit. James is averaging 6.1 points and 2.0 assists per game this season.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Starting Wednesday

James is starting Wednesday's game against Cleveland. Wednesday is the first half of the Hornets' back-to-back, so they're having LaMelo Ball come off the bench to maximize his availability. James has averaged 6.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 29.4 minutes per tilt across 17 games as a starter this season.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Retreating to bench

James isn't starting Sunday's game against the Nuggets. James drew the start Saturday but failed to do much with the opportunity, finishing with two points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 24 minutes. He'll return to a bench role Sunday with LaMelo Ball returning to the first unit for the second half of a back-to-back.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Starting Saturday

James is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game versus the Warriors. Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel, Miles Bridges and Ryan Kalkbrenner will join James in the first unit for Saturday's game. As a starter this season, James owns averages of 6.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 triples per game.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Nearly double-doubles

James posted nine points (4-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt), eight rebounds and two assists over 17 minutes during Thursday's 135-117 win over the Lakers. Charlotte's starters all played big roles in this one, but James made the most of his limited workload off the bench, mostly on the rebounding front. He's been off the fantasy radar in most formats recently, as he's averaging 24.0 minutes over his last 11 outings with 5.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.9 three-pointers.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Rotating to bench

James isn't in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Pacers. James will retreat to a bench role with Brandon Miller back in action. James hasn't been very impactful as a reserve of late, averaging 6.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 25.8 minutes in his last four matchups off the bench.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Starting vs. Milwaukee

James will start against the Bucks on Monday. With Kon Knueppel (ankle) sidelined, James will enter the starting lineup for the first time since Dec. 14. In 14 starts so far this season, the rookie second-rounder has averaged 7.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 29.9 minutes per game.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Good to go against Bucks

James (illness) is available for Monday's game against the Bucks. James is playing through an illness Monday to handle his typical role off the bench. Over his past five outings, the rookie swingman has averaged 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 21.5 minutes per contest.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Draws start Sunday

James is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers. James will replace KJ Simpson in the first unit with LaMelo Ball (ankle) out once again. Although James is listed as the starting point guard, it's likely that Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller initiate most of the offense.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Enters starting five

James is starting Monday's game against the Nets. James will join the starting lineup Monday due to the absence of Brandon Miller (shoulder). James hasn't been effective in a starting role of late, as he's been held to single figures in the scoring column in each of his last four chances with the first unit.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Entering starting five

James is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Hawks, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. James will return to the starting lineup after coming off the bench Saturday. In 10 starts this season, the rookie has averaged 6.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 29.2 minutes per contest. With the Hornets down three regulars in LaMelo Ball (ankle), Brandon Miller (shoulder) and Ryan Kalkbrenner (ankle), James should see added opportunities Sunday.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Cleared to play

James (groin) is available for Saturday's game against the Clippers. While James has been upgraded from probable, the rookie may lose his starting spot, as Brandon Miller (shoulder) has been cleared to return following a lengthy absence. As a reserve this season, James has averaged 8.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 21.2 minutes per game (five appearances).

  • Hornets' Sion James: Probable for Saturday

James is probable for Saturday's game against the Clippers due to a left groin issue. It doesn't sound like the left groin issue will impact James' status for Saturday's game, and we'll have official confirmation on his status prior to tip-off. The rookie is averaging 7.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 triples on the season. However, he's expected to see a reduced role moving forward due to Brandon Miller (shoulder) being cleared to return from a lengthy absence.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Scoreless in loss

James racked up zero points (0-4 FG, 0-4 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 25 minutes during Monday's 110-108 loss to the Raptors. While James was able to contribute in other categories, Monday's scoreless outing was the worst performance of his young professional career. James has been on a cold streak offensively, shooting 23.1 percent from the field and a meager 17.6 percent from three in his last four games. While it is unclear when he will break out of this shooting slump, James does not hold much value due to the lack of volume and efficiency.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Sees 17 minutes off bench

James closed with two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 17 minutes during Wednesday's 136-117 victory over the Nets. James, who was the No. 33 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, saw a decent workload in his debut. With Josh Green (shoulder) sidelined to begin the season and without a timetable, James will have a big chance to win a consistent role in the second unit. He's mostly a defensive specialist right now, so he's unlikely to offer much fantasy appeal on the offensive side of the ball.

  • Hornets' Sion James: Remains out Thursday

James (hip) will not play in Thursday's Summer League game against the Spurs. James will miss his second consecutive game Thursday due to left hip soreness. His next chance to play will likely come Saturday.
