Celtics' Derrick White: Won't go Thursday

Celtics' Derrick White: Questionable vs OKC
White is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against Oklahoma City due to a right knee contusion, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports.
White has picked up a bruised right knee, and the issue could prevent him from facing the Thunder. The standout guard played 40 minutes in Tuesday's loss to San Antonio. If he can't play, Payton Pritchard (neck) would likely handle point guard duties.

Celtics' Derrick White: Scores season-high 34 points
White closed Tuesday's 125-116 loss to the Spurs with 34 points (11-22 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 9-11 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and one block in 40 minutes.
White delivered one of his best stat lines of the season Tuesday, but his efforts were not enough to get past a red-hot Spurs team. The 34-point output was White's best scoring mark of the season, and he contributed a decent amount of rebounds and assists, which is something that can always be expected out of him. The veteran guard is averaging a strong line of 18.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.6 blocks per game since the break, and his role on offense hasn't diminished with Jayson Tatum returning to the lineup. In fact, White is posting better numbers after the All-Star break than before the intermission.

Celtics' Derrick White: Continues to shine
White registered 20 points (8-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals across 31 minutes during Friday's 120-100 victory over the Mavericks.
Despite Jayson Tatum (Achilles) returning to the lineup Friday, White remained a focal point of the Celtics' attack and reached the 20-point plateau for the fifth time in his last seven games. While he provided elite defensive value with two blocks and two steals, White's overall usage may see a slight dip as Tatum fully reintegrates into the offense. Regardless of White's scoring ceiling, his ability to generate defensive stats from the guard position keeps his floor high.

Celtics' Derrick White: Drains five threes in win Sunday
White finished with 21 points (6-16 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals over 39 minutes during Sunday's 114-98 victory over the 76ers.
White didn't have his best shooting performance, but he still knocked down five threes -- his best output since Feb. 4 -- and reached the 20-point mark, a feat he's now accomplished in three of his last four appearances. Even though Jaylen Brown is set in stone as the Celtics' go-to option on offense, White has done a good job as a secondary scoring weapon. The veteran guard is averaging 17.4 points while hitting 42.2 percent of his threes over his last five appearances, making two or more three-pointers each time.

Celtics' Derrick White: Knocks down four three-pointers
White finished Friday's 148-111 win over Brooklyn with 12 points (4-9 FG, 4-8 3Pt), seven assists, three rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 32 minutes.
White did all of his scoring damage from beyond the arc Friday, and it marked the third game in a row in which he connected on four three-pointers. He also co-led the Celtics with two swats, and he has logged at least two blocks in six of his last eight outings. White is averaging 1.5 blocks per game this season, which is tied for 10th best in the NBA and is second behind Scottie Barnes (1.6) among non-centers. White is enjoying a career year, but his usage would seemingly take a hit if Jayson Tatum (Achilles) is cleared to return, though the latter would presumably need significant time to ramp up his in-game conditioning after a lengthy rehab.

Celtics' Derrick White: Nearly triple-doubles
White finished with 22 points (9-18 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and one steal across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 97-81 win over the Suns.
White took advantage of some extra usage due to Jaylen Brown (knee) getting the night off, narrowly missing a triple-double in the process. White continues to lead the Celtics in fantasy value for nine-category formats, posting averages of 17.1 points, 5.7 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.5 blocks and 2.8 three-pointers.

Celtics' Derrick White: Makes impact on defense Thursday
White finished Thursday's 121-110 win over the Warriors with 10 points (4-13 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, eight assists, four blocks and one steal over 39 minutes.
The veteran guard failed to drain at least one three-pointer for the first time since Jan. 19, but White otherwise made an impact at both ends of the court. He's dished at least eight assists in five of seven games in February, averaging 16.4 points, 7.1 assists, 3.3 boards, 2.7 threes, 1.4 blocks and 0.7 steals on the month.

Celtics' Derrick White: Tallies 19 points in loss
White supplied 19 points (7-14 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists and one rebound across 34 minutes during Sunday's 111-89 loss to the Knicks.
White finished one point shy of his third straight 20-point outing, trailing only Jaylen Brown in scoring for the Celtics during a lopsided loss. While his efficiency can fluctuate, White's high-volume three-point shooting remains a constant, as he entered Sunday averaging 2.9 made threes per game and has now knocked down at least three triples in 28 of 51 appearances this season.

Celtics' Derrick White: Lethal from deep in road win
White registered 28 points (10-25 FG, 6-14 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists and one rebound over 37 minutes during the Celtics' 114-93 win over the Rockets on Wednesday.
White struggled from the field during the Celtics' win over the Mavericks on Tuesday, connecting on just one of his eight attempts from three-point range. He was much better from the field Wednesday, leading the Celtics offensively in the absence of Jaylen Brown (hamstring/knee). White's six three-pointers were his most in a game since Dec. 19 against the Heat (nine), and the versatile wing has dished out at least eight assists in four consecutive games.

Celtics' Derrick White: Productive in win over Milwaukee
White contributed 17 points (6-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Sunday's 107-79 win over the Bucks.
The veteran guard bounced back from a quiet seven-point performance Friday against the Kings. White has been struggling of late on the offensive end, going 10 straight games without reaching 20 points and averaging 11.8 points, 6.3 assists, 5.3 boards, 1.3 threes, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks over that stretch.

Celtics' Derrick White: Held to 11 points in loss
White ended with 11 points (5-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 117-106 loss to Atlanta.
The Celtics came out lifeless Wednesday evening, scoring just 18 points on 6-of-20 shooting through the first quarter of action, which accounted for their lowest-scoring first quarter this season. White was scoreless in that first frame, opened the game with four straight misses and just never found his footing offensively. This was the Celtics' first double-digit defeat since Dec. 11 in Milwaukee, but they'll look to right the ship Friday versus Sacramento.

Celtics' Derrick White: Set to return Saturday
White (rest) is not on the injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Bulls, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
White sat out the Celtics' double-overtime win over the Nets on Friday due to rest purposes. The veteran guard will be available for the second leg of Boston's back-to-back set Saturday, and his return will likely result in Baylor Scheierman reverting to a bench role.

Celtics' Derrick White: Struggles from field in return
White logged 15 points (5-18 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 39 minutes during Saturday's 114-111 loss to the Bulls.
White was back on the floor Saturday after being held out of Friday's double-overtime win over the Nets for rest purposes. That extra rest didn't appear to help with his efficiency from the field, but he was responsible for three of the Celtics' eight offensive boards and finished tied with Payton Pritchard for the most assists on the team. White has been an inconsistent shooter all season, but since the start of January he has connected on just 36.0 percent of his field-goal attempts and 25.0 percent of his three-point tries (on 8.3 3PA/G).
