76ers' Adem Bona: Considered day-to-day
Bona, who has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Detroit, is being considered day-to-day after scans on his back came back clean, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
Bona was sent for imaging after experiencing back soreness, but the results shows that he's managed to avoid a serious injury. The Sixers will presumably re-evaluate the big man again Friday to get a better idea of his availability for Saturday's clash against the Nets.

Despite starting for the third straight game, Bona continues to offer very little in terms of tangible production. In his three recent starts, he has averaged just 8.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.7 blocks, well below what fantasy managers would have expected. While the numbers are far from exciting, he remains a viable streaming option, given the favorable schedule and the fact that Joel Embiid could miss the entire week due to an ongoing oblique injury.

Joel Embiid was given the night off for rest during the second leg of this back-to-back set. Andre Drummond drew the start and pulled down 15 rebounds in 22 minutes, but Bona also put together a solid display for the 76ers. Looking ahead, the next back-to-back set for Philadelphia begins Jan. 26.

After averaging 17.8 minutes per game while appearing in each of the previous 10 contests, Bona looked to have moved ahead of Andre Drummond on the depth chart at center. However, head coach Nick Nurse ended up reversing course Friday, turning to Drummond as the sole backup option to starter Joel Embiid while Bona didn't get off the bench. Nurse has shown a willingness to occasionally use Bona alongside Embiid at times, but with Trendon Watford and Kelly Oubre recently returning from injuries, the 76ers could be less inclined to deploy Bona at power forward in future contests.

Bona played 26 minutes as the backup center behind Joel Embiid, with Andre Drummond moving out of the rotation.
