Grizzlies' Richie Saunders: Remains unsigned for Memphis
Rotowire
Saunders' (knee) role with Memphis remains unclear as the Grizzlies work through a roster crunch ahead of the regular season, according to Jonah Dylan of The Memphis Commercial Appeal.
President of basketball operations Zach Kleiman characterized the situation as "wait and see" Wednesday. Saunders was selected by Memphis in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft but remains unsigned, leaving his immediate future uncertain as the Grizzlies sort through a logjam at the back end of their roster.

Grizzlies' Richie Saunders: Selected No. 32 by Memphis
Rotowire
Saunders was selected by the Grizzlies with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
The soon-to-be 25-year-old is one of the older players in this draft, but he's also one of the more NBA-ready guys, with a pure shooting stroke and high basketball IQ. Saunders put in averages of 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.6 triples and 1.7 steals per game on 49/38/82 shooting splits during his senior season at BYU. He could carve out a role on this rebuilding Memphis team, but he'll likely miss at least the first few months of the season rehabbing a torn ACL that occurred in February.
