  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Out for Friday

Flagg (foot) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Timberwolves, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports. Flagg was spotted running off to the side during Thursday's practice, but he's not yet been cleared to play. Head coach Jason Kidd noted the rookie is being considered day-to-day moving forward. Flagg's next chance to suit up will arrive Sunday against the Pacers.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Hits for 27 in Phoenix

Flagg closed Tuesday's 120-111 loss to the Suns with 27 points (8-20 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 11-14 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal across 36 minutes. After struggling to just 14 points against the Spurs on Saturday, Flagg bounced back and topped 25 points for the fifth time in the last six games. Over that stretch, the teenage phenom is averaging 32.0 points, 7.7 boards, 4.0 assists, 1.7 threes and 1.2 blocks while shooting 52.6 percent from the floor and 45.5 percent from beyond the arc as he continues to solidify his case for the Rookie of the Year Award.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Pours in 36 points in loss

Flagg contributed 36 points (12-24 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 10-11 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and two blocks in 37 minutes during Tuesday's 110-100 loss to the Celtics. Flagg has been on a scoring tear despite Dallas dropping each of its last three games, averaging 39.7 points while shooting 57.7 percent from the field during that stretch. The rookie has taken on an enormous offensive burden for the Mavericks and continues to contribute across multiple categories, even as the losses pile up.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Makes NBA history with huge night

Flagg registered 49 points (20-29 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one block in 38 minutes during Thursday's 123-121 loss to the Hornets. Flagg scored the most points by a player under 20 years of age in NBA history during Thursday's loss. He dominated in the post from start to finish and showcased his range down the stretch, tying the game at 121 by drilling a clutch trey with 33.1 seconds remaining. However, the 19-year-old committed a turnover on Dallas' second-to-last possession and couldn't find a way to tie the game as time expired. While the final outcome didn't go his way, Flagg was incredibly efficient considering his high volume on the offensive end, knocking down 69.0 percent of his attempts from the field.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Absent from injury report

Flagg (ankle) is off the injury report for Thursday's game against the Hornets. Flagg is returning from a one-game absence with an ankle injury. • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Unlikely to play Sunday

Flagg is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bucks due to left ankle injury management. Flagg missed two consecutive games earlier in January due to a left ankle injury. It appears the rookie will be sidelined for Sunday's contest to avoid aggravating the issue, and his absence would mean more minutes for Ryan Nembhard, Brandon Williams (knee), Jaden Hardy and D'Angelo Russell. Assuming he's ruled out, Flagg's next opportunity to play would be Wednesday against the Timberwolves.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Double-double vs. Golden State

Flagg registered 21 points (8-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-7 3Pt), 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal over 30 minutes during the Mavericks' 123-115 win over the Warriors on Thursday. Flagg recorded his sixth double-double of the season Thursday while logging a career high in rebounds. He ended up playing 30 minutes despite being originally slated to operate on a minutes restriction, indicating that he is past an ankle injury that forced him to miss two games in January. Since Jan. 1, Flagg has averaged 16.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals over 31.1 minutes per game.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Puts up 18 points in return

Flagg (ankle) tallied 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-6 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal across 28 minutes Monday in the Mavericks' 114-97 win over the Knicks. Flagg was back in action Monday after the left ankle sprain that he sustained in last Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets had kept him out for two straight games. The standout rookie slid back into the starting five at point guard but took on a more subdued role on offense than usual, as he finished third behind teammates Max Christie (26 points) and Naji Marshall (19 points) in scoring. Flagg was also eased back in with a slightly lighter workload than normal -- he averages 33.9 minutes per game for the season -- but look for his playing time to pick up in the Mavericks' next game Thursday versus the Warriors.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Doubtful for Thursday

Flagg (ankle) is doubtful for Thursday's game against Utah. This is hardly a surprise after the rookie left Wednesday's game early with a noticeable limp. All signs point to the Mavericks being cautious. In the meantime, it's likely that Caleb Martin, Brandon Williams and Klay Thompson will step into larger roles Thursday, and possibly Ryan Nembhard.

Flagg (ankle) has returned to Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, per the broadcast. • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Well-rounded outing in win

Flagg finished with 27 points (10-17 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block across 35 minutes in Monday's 113-105 win over the Nets. It was a huge bounce-back performance for the rookie No. 1 overall pick, who scored just 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field in Saturday's loss to Chicago. With the Mavericks extremely shorthanded, Flagg led the charge with a team-high 27 points. He also impacted the game in other ways, turning in a productive all-around performance as he posted at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists for the sixth time through 39 regular-season games. Additionally, he tied the game-high mark in steals, matching his season high and tallying multiple swipes for the third time in his last five outings.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Scores 27 in Christmas Day loss

Flagg notched 27 points (13-21 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one block over 36 minutes during Thursday's 126-116 loss to the Warriors. Flagg led all scorers with efficient shooting but couldn't lift the Mavericks to a Christmas Day victory. The No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft has enjoyed a strong December, averaging 24.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals through 10 games entering Thursday's contest. While his three-point shot remains a work in progress, the Duke product has largely met expectations and shown the ability to impact games at a high level as a rookie.

  • Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Sniffs triple-double vs. Denver

Flagg posted 33 points (14-21 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, nine assists, a steal and a block across 40 minutes in Tuesday's 131-130 win over the Nuggets. Flagg became just the second teenager to record this 33-9-9 stat line in NBA history, with the previous record-holder being Luka Doncic (leg). Flagg has been playing at a high level since the beginning of December, but his numbers have seen a sizable uptick lately, as he's hit 20 or more points in five of his last six appearances, and in seven of 10 appearances this month.

Flagg (back) participated in Monday's morning shootaround, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports. Flagg remains questionable on the official injury report for Monday's game against the Pelicans due to a back contusion, but his participation Monday morning bodes well for his status. Over his last three games, Flagg is averaging 29.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 blocks.
