Nets' Egor Demin: Won't play again this season
The Nets announced Monday that Demin (foot) will miss the rest of the season, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.
Brooklyn has been managing Demin's workload since the preseason, as the guard has been dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot all year, and the team is proceeding with an abundance of caution to get the issue fully resolved. Demin will end his rookie campaign with averages of 10.3 points, 3.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 three-pointers in 25.2 minutes per contest through 52 regular-season games. With the rookie first-rounder's season finished, the Nets should turn to Nolan Traore and Ben Saraf to handle the bulk of the ball-handling duties to close out the season.

Demin was ice cold against the reigning champs, finishing with only three points and missing seven of his eight three-point attempts. Demin was hot from the jump, scoring eight points on four shots in his first seven minutes of action en route to a new career high in points. It marked a nice bounce-back performance for the rookie after he was held to 11 points on 4-for-11 shooting his last time out, and he'll look to keep the good times rolling Saturday with a favorable matchup against the Wizards.

Demin recorded the first double-double of his career, guiding the Nets to a rare win. While this was obviously a favorable matchup, Demin has looked better in recent times. In three appearances over the past week, he has averaged 17.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.0 three-pointers in 29.7 minutes per game.
