  • Pistons' Ebuka Okorie: Not part of rotation

Okorie (coach's decision) didn't play during Tuesday's 121-113 win over the Celtics. While the Pistons traded up in the draft to acquire Okorie's services earlier this year, the team doesn't look to be ready to throw the rookie first-rounder into the fire. Okorie appears to have more fantasy value in dynasty leagues.

  • Pistons' Ebuka Okorie: Leads bench in scoring Friday

Okorie logged 14 points (4-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one assist and one steal over nine minutes during the Pistons' 129-125 preseason win over the Raptors on Friday. Okorie didn't see the floor until the fourth quarter, but he made an immediate impact off the bench by scoring 14 of the Pistons' 36 points in the period to help stave off a late comeback attempt by the Raptors. Okorie was the 17th overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft and made a good impression on Detroit's coaching staff during the Summer League and training camp. That said, it's hard to see a clear path to playing time for the rookie out of Stanford, seeing as he's behind both Cade Cunningham and Daniss Jenkins on the depth chart.

  • Pistons' Ebuka Okorie: Paces Detroit in preseason loss

Okorie supplied 14 points (6-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists, one rebound and one assist across 27 minutes in Saturday's 114-108 preseason loss to the Wizards in overtime. Okorie was the only player to log more than 21 minutes for Detroit. Although he struggled from beyond the arc, the rookie point guard still led the Pistons in scoring and assists. He's totaled 21 points and seven assists over 37 minutes through two preseason games.

  • Pistons' Ebuka Okorie: Game-high 27 points in SL loss

Okorie posted 27 points (8-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal over 28 minutes during the Pistons' 101-87 Summer League loss to the Heat on Friday. Okorie made most of his scoring impact just before and after halftime, scoring 21 of his game-high 27 points across the second and third quarters of Friday's game. The rookie first-rounder has been solid across his five outings in the Summer League and figures to compete with Daniss Jenkins, Kevin Huerter, Isaiah Joe and Gary Harris for backcourt minutes off the bench behind starters Cade Cunningham and Duncan Robinson.

  • Pistons' Ebuka Okorie: Logs seven steals in SL win

Okorie posted 14 points (5-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six assists, three rebounds and seven steals over 31 minutes during the Pistons' 103-94 Summer League win over the Cavaliers on Sunday. Okorie finished as the Pistons' fourth-leading scorer despite his inefficiencies from the field, but he more than made up for it on the defensive side of the floor, where he accounted for seven of the team's 13 steals. Okorie was selected by the Pistons with the No. 17 pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, and strong play on defense should earn him consistent minutes in his rookie season, with his main competition for playing time coming from Daniss Jenkins and Isaiah Joe.

  • Pistons' Ebuka Okorie: Drops 20 points in SL loss

Okorie tallied 20 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four assists, two steals and one rebound across 30 minutes in Thursday's 101-93 Summer League loss to the 76ers. Okorie delivered an efficient performance and finished as Detroit's second-leading scorer, albeit in a losing effort. The rookie point guard was also one of two Pistons players to log multiple steals. The Stanford product could see rotational minutes right away in 2026-27, though he'll likely compete for playing time with Daniss Jenkins and Isaiah Joe.

  • Pistons' Ebuka Okorie: Bound for Detroit

The Thunder selected Okorie with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and traded his rights to the Grizzlies, who then traded his rights to the Pistons, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Detroit moved up from No. 21 and packaged three second-round picks to acquire Okorie, who powered Stanford's offense during his lone collegiate campaign. The guard averaged 23.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 35.0 minutes per contest across 31 starts during the 2025-26 season. He earned All-ACC First Team honors and showcased his scoring prowess by reaching the 30-point mark eight times. The Pistons are set at point guard with superstar Cade Cunningham, but Okorie figures to provide a spark off the bench during his rookie campaign.
