  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Won't play Thursday

Banton (hip) is out for Thursday's game against the Nuggets.

Banton provides a scoring punch off the bench, but this hip injury will prevent him from taking the floor in this one. The 25-year-old has been a key rotation piece for the Trail Blazers since the start of November, averaging 11.0 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds across 18.4 minutes per game during that stretch.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Iffy for Thursday

Banton is questionable for Thursday's game against the Nuggets due to a left hip contusion.

Banton has been a key rotation piece for the Trail Blazers since the start of November, averaging 11.0 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds across 18.4 minutes per game during that stretch. However, he's at risk of missing Thursday's contest due to a bruised quad. If he sits, Rayan Rupert and Kris Murray could see more minutes.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Scores 19 points off bench Friday

Banton supplied 19 points (7-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal over 27 minutes during Friday's 141-99 loss to the Jazz.

Banton had a strong performance Friday despite the 42-point loss, and even though his scoring prowess has rarely translated to wins for the Trail Blazers, it makes him a decent streaming option in most fantasy formats. Banton has been seeing the floor on a more consistent basis lately, and the numbers back that decision up. He's played at least 20 minutes in six of his last seven appearances, a span in which the former Nebraska standout is averaging 12.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 37.5 percent from deep.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Good to go Friday vs. Kings

Banton (knee) is available for Friday's game against Sacramento, Sean Highkin of Rip City Radio 620 Portland reports.

Banton was initially listed as questionable for Friday's game due to left knee soreness, but the third-year guard will play. Banton would see an uptick in playing time if Scoot Henderson (quadriceps) is unable to play.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Downgraded to questionable Friday

Banton is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Kings due to left knee soreness.

Banton was a late addition to the injury report and will likely remain a game-time decision Saturday. The 25-year-old guard and Scoot Henderson (quad) were both late additions, and if either are unable to play, Rayan Rupert and Kris Murray (chest) could see an uptick in playing time off the bench.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Scores 11 points in loss

Banton logged 11 points (4-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 24 minutes during Monday's 123-98 loss to Memphis.

After totaling only eight points and shooting 2-for-15 from the field in his last two appearances, Banton recorded his 10th game with 10-plus points Monday. The 25-year-old still struggled with efficiency, though he did finish as one of five Blazers to reach the double-digit mark in points. Banton has carved out a significant role off the bench thus far, and he has played 20 or more minutes in seven of his last 10 appearances.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Scores season-high 23 points

Banton supplied 23 points (9-19 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 26 minutes during Sunday's 114-110 win over the Hawks.

Banton posted his best scoring output of the season in this win over the Hawks and continued his solid stretch of play, as he's scored in double digits coming off the bench in all but one of his nine November appearances. He's averaging 13.3 points, 3.0 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game in that span.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Another solid outing

Banton registered 13 points (4-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), two rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals in 24 minutes during Wednesday's 106-98 victory over Minnesota.

Banton has now posted double-digit points in seven of his last eight appearances. The 25-year-old guard has also recorded at least one steal and one block in four of those games, including in Wednesday's win.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Productive off bench once again

Banton accumulated 13 points (4-18 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals across 20 minutes during Sunday's 134-89 loss to Memphis.

Banton owns one of the highest point-per-minute-played rates in the NBA, and he didn't need a lot of time to make his presence felt -- although it was in another blowout defeat. Banton is averaging 12.0 points on 13.5 minutes per game across six appearances in November.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Goes for 20 points Monday

Banton ended with 20 points (8-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and two steals across 12 minutes during Monday's 118-100 win over New Orleans.

Banton delivered explosive offense off the bench for the Trail Blazers, needing just 12 minutes to reach the 20-point plateau while missing just one shot from the field. Banton has been highly efficient for the Blazers since he's scored in double digits in his last three games despite not playing more than 12 minutes in any of them. However, that streak of efficiency is bound to stop at some point. Ultimately, and regardless of how much of a scoring machine he can be, Banton shouldn't have a lot of upside if he's still playing under 15 minutes per contest.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Staying in Portland

The Trail Blazers exercised Banton's $2.2 million team option for the 2024-25 season Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Banton will return to Portland for his first full season with the Trail Blazers after he was acquired from the Celtics in Feb. 8. While Portland shut down several key contributors with injuries late last season, the 24-year-old stepped into a focal role for Portland, averaging 16.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 0.9 steals over 30 contests with the club. Though he played well enough to stick around in Portland in 2024-25 and may even have earned himself a rotation spot, Banton is still expected to see a steep role reduction if the Trail Blazers have the likes of Jerami Grant (hamstring), Shaedon Sharpe (abdomen) and Anfernee Simons (knee) available to begin the upcoming season.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Drops 17 points in finale

Banton racked up 17 points (6-26 FG, 0-15 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 39 minutes before getting ejected from Sunday's 121-82 loss to the Kings.

Banton came back to earth in the final game of the season, but there's no denying his prolific stat lines in the closing weeks. Portland has a $2.2M team option for next season, and Banton's standout play may compel the organization to pick it up.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Tossed in finale

Banton was ejected from Sunday's game against the Kings after receiving a Flagrant 2 foul with 3:30 left in the fourth quarter, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

An abysmal shooting performance proceeded Banton's ejection, as he cemented himself in Trail Blazer history by becoming the first player to attempt 15 three-pointers without a make. Despite the disappointing end to the campaign, Banton made his mark and may have solidified an opportunity next season with his stellar play over the final two months of 2023-24. Since March 1 (23 appearances), Banton has averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks in 31.9 minutes per game.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Starting Sunday

Banton will start at point guard in Sunday's season finale in Sacramento.

With Scoot Henderson (hip) sidelined, Banton will be inserted in the starting lineup. He has averaged 18.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists across 33.1 minutes in eight games as a starter.

  • Trail Blazers' Dalano Banton: Posts 28 points in return to action

Banton ended with 28 points (9-26 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 38 minutes during Friday's 116-107 loss to Houston.

Banton is flashiing potential that evaded him during stints with Boston and Toronto, and his resurgent play could allow Portland some flexibility as they make offseason decisions on its roster. The Trail Blazers made a solid investment in Scoot Henderson, but with Banton emerging as a scoring threat, the team may be able to make some deals in the offseason to clear room for him. They could also trade him to a team that needs a proven backcourt option.

Banton (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against the Rockets.

Banton was sidelined for Thursday's loss to the Warriors and may miss the second half of Portland's back-to-back. He's been one of the lone bright spots for the Trail Blazers to end the 2023-24 season, as he's averaged 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.6 minutes over 22 appearances since the beginning of March.
