  • Bulls' Talen Horton-Tucker: Leads bench in scoring in loss

Horton-Tucker ended Sunday's 143-107 loss to the Rockets with 12 points (4-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and two assists over 10 minutes. Horton-Tucker provided a boost off the Chicago bench despite his brief time on the floor, leading all players on the second unit in scoring while connecting on a team-high-tying pair of threes. Horton-Tucker's point total was his second highest of the season and marked the third time he scored in double figures thus far in the new campaign.

  • Bulls' Talen Horton-Tucker: Sees uptick in playing time

Horton-Tucker closed with 10 points (2-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes during Monday's 135-126 loss to the Jazz. Horton-Tucker struggled to find his groove shooting the ball, but he still finished the night with season highs in points, rebounds, assists and minutes. The Iowa State product clearly benefitted from the absence of Zach LaVine (hip), who's timetable for a return is still up in the air. Both Horton-Tucker and Dalen Terry should be in line for more opportunities until LaVine can get back on the court.

  • Bulls' Talen Horton-Tucker: Productive off bench Monday

Horton-Tucker registered 15 points (4-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), six rebounds and an assist across 18 minutes off the bench in Monday's 111-107 preseason loss to the Bucks. Horton-Tucker is battling for a roster spot with the Bulls, and while these performances might strengthen his case, his chances of securing a spot in the Opening Night rotation aren't very high. Horton-Tucker has averaged at least 10.0 points per game in each of his last three seasons, though, so he could provide some scoring and flexibility off the bench for a rebuilding Chicago team.

  • Bulls' Talen Horton-Tucker: Good to go Saturday

Horton-Tucker is available for Saturday's preseason game against the Grizzlies, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Horton-Tucker was held out of Friday's practice due to calf tightness as a precautionary measure, but he is good to go for Saturday's preseason matchup. The 23-year-old appeared in 51 regular-season contests for Utah last season, during which he averaged 10.1 points, 3.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds across 19.8 minutes per game.

  • Bulls' Talen Horton-Tucker: Absent from practice

Horton-Tucker didn't practice Friday due to calf tightness, Will Gottlieb of AllCHGO.com reports. Horton-Tucker's status for Saturday's preseason matchup with the Grizzlies is now in question. However, there is no indication that the 23-year-old guard will miss any regular-season action.

  • Bulls' Talen Horton-Tucker: Latches on with Bulls

Horton-Tucker agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal with Chicago on Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Horton-Tucker spent the last two seasons in Utah, averaging 10.7 points per game in 2022 and scoring 10.1 points in 19.8 minutes per contest in 2023. The five-year NBA veteran is only 23 years old, and he'll have an opportunity to make the regular-season roster with an impressive training camp.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Hits for team-high 24

Horton-Tucker finished with 24 points (10-23 FG, 4-8 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 32 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 111-95 loss to Denver. The 23-year-old guard led the Jazz in scoring on the night as he saw big minutes in the absence of Collin Sexton (illness), Jordan Clarkson (back) and Kris Dunn (foot). Horton-Tucker has scored 12 or more points in each of his last three games, draining multiple three-pointers in each, and he figured to hang onto a significant role in the backcourt over the final few games of the regular season.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Leads from bench with 17 points

Horton-Tucker closed with 17 points (5-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), three rebounds, one assist and two steals in 26 minutes during Friday's 131-102 loss to the Clippers. The Jazz's starting five were almost completely ineffective in the blowout loss, and the huge deficit allowed Utah's bench to empty. Horton-Tucker didn't enter the game until the very end of the first quarter but put in a full 12 minutes in the second and fourth quarters during the blowout. The 23-year-old was expected to have a bigger impact in his second year with the Jazz, but injuries have plagued his 2023-24 campaign, and his lengthy absences allowed other players to leapfrog him on the depth chart. After exercising his $11M option to remain with the team this year, his future with Utah is a bit cloudy, as the Jazz need to pay other valuable players on the roster.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Status quo performance

Horton-Tucker contributed seven points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound, three assists and two steals over 19 minutes during Monday's 114-104 loss to the Timberwolves. Horton-Tucker is now averaging 6.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 17.2 minutes across his last six contests -- with Monday's outing representing an acute continuation of that production. On the season, Horton-Tucker's 0.891 points per possession rank in the 25th percentile among all players, although he is posting a career-high 2.9 percent steal-plus-block rate, so the effort is present.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Logs 20 minutes in loss

Horton-Tucker racked up seven points (1-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block across 20 minutes during Saturday's 126-120 loss to Miami. Horton-Tucker moved back into the rotation Saturday, playing at least 20 minutes for the first time since late December. Although he has the ability to contribute across multiple categories, his role is far too insecure to warrant attention outside of very deep leagues.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Sees playing time in blowout loss

Horton-Tucker posted eight points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal in eight minutes during Tuesday's 153-124 loss to New Orleans. The Jazz struggled to keep up with New Orleans on Tuesday, so Horton-Tucker saw some minutes for the first time since Jan. 5. He wasn't very efficient from the floor and is unlikely to see the court in closer matchups moving forward.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Sees minutes late in loss

Horton-Tucker amassed 11 points (4-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), one rebound and two steals across 12 minutes during Friday's 126-97 loss to the Celtics. Horton-Tucker got his first game action in the fourth quarter with the Jazz down by 30 points. It was his first appearance since Dec. 28, as he's fallen out of the rotation in favor of Keyonte George, Kris Dunn and Simone Fontecchio. Horton-Tucker has seen the court for just 18 minutes over his last two appearances.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Falling out of favor

Horton-Tucker has logged two consecutive DNP-CDs while making just one appearance across Utah's last six contests. Before this stretch of near-complete removal from the rotation, Horton-Tucker had logged back-to-back starts with 30 minutes. Keyonte George, Kris Dunn and Simone Fontecchio have been on the rise of late, but Horton-Tucker leads all Utah players with a plus-9.1 net rating per 100 possessions this season -- excluding garbage time. Although that metric can be dictated by who Horton-Tucker shares the floor with, it's unclear why he's been entirely scrapped from Utah's lineups at this time.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Barely cracks rotation Thursday

Horton-Tucker (foot) recorded two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in six minutes off the bench in Thursday's 112-105 loss to the Pelicans. After missing two straight games with left foot soreness, Horton-Tucker was cleared to play Tuesday, but he didn't see any run in the Jazz's 130-118 win over the Spurs. Horton-Tucker checked back into the rotation three days later, albeit in a small role while both Kris Dunn (19 minutes) and Keyonte George (22 minutes) saw most of the run at point guard. While he could eventually carve out a larger role, Horton-Tucker's playing time will likely be suppressed in the short term while Utah is at full strength in the backcourt.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Iffy for Tuesday

Horton-Tucker (foot) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Spurs, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Horton-Tucker has missed back-to-back games due to a foot injury. He was also listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's win over Toronto before being ruled out, so the designation doesn't offer much optimism. Keyonte George (foot) is also questionable, so it's unclear what Utah's backcourt rotation will look like.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Not suiting up Saturday

Horton-Tucker (foot) won't play Saturday against the Raptors. Horton-Tucker will sit out for a second straight game, but he remains day-to-day. His next chance to play will be Tuesday against the Spurs. The good news for Utah is that they are getting Jordan Clarkson back from a thigh injury Saturday, and he's likely to play a sizable role right away with all the injuries the Jazz are dealing with.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Unavailable Thursday

Horton-Tucker has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Pistons due to left foot soreness, Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Horton-Tucker has started in three of the last four matchups but will sit out for the first time this season Thursday. The Jazz are resting several key players for Thursday's matchup against the struggling Pistons, so it certainly seems possible that Horton-Tucker will be able to return for Saturday's game against the Raptors.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Double-double in Wednesday's loss

Horton-Tucker ended with 19 points (6-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-8 FT), one rebound, 11 assists and one steal over 30 minutes during Wednesday's 124-116 loss to Cleveland. The double-double was his first of the season as Horton-Tucker took full advantage of the absences of Jordan Clarkson (thigh) and Keyonte George (foot). THT has started three of four games since George was sidelined, but the 23-year-old guard's turnaround began at the beginning of December. Horton-Tucker has scored in double digits in nine straight games, averaging 16.3 points, 4.6 assists, 2.1 boards, 1.8 threes and 1.6 steals over that stretch as he puts a bumpy start to the season behind him.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Gets starting nod

Horton-Tucker is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Brooklyn. Horton-Tucker and Kris Dunn will swap roles Monday, with Dunn available to come off the bench. Horton-Tucker will be joined by Collin Sexton in Utah's starting backcourt Monday.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Will play off bench Saturday

Horton-Tucker is not in the starting lineup to face the Kings on Saturday, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Horton-Tucker was cleared to play shortly before this 10 p.m. ET tipoff since he was dealing with an illness, but he will be available off the bench, a sign that perhaps indicates he's not 100 percent healthy. Kris Dunn and Collin Sexton will start in the backcourt for the Jazz, as Keyonte George (foot) and Jordan Clarkson (thigh) remain out.
