Vincent Poirier: Headed to Spain
Poirier signed a four-year contract with Spanish club Real Madrid on Monday.
Poirier will continue his career overseas after a rather underwhelming two-year stint in the NBA with the Celtics and 76ers. Over his 32 career games, Poirier averaged 1.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 5.3 minutes. The 27-year-old is unlikely to pursue a return to the NBA down the road.

Vincent Poirier: Officially waived by Knicks
Poirier was waived by the Knicks on Sunday.
Both Poirier and Terrance Ferguson were cut loose by New York, which acquired the pair as part of a three-team deal before Thursday's trade deadline. Poirier was not a part of the regular rotation in Philadelphia, so regardless of where he ends up, he's unlikely to become an impact player this season. The Frenchman may end up pursuing a return to Europe if an NBA team isn't interested in bringing him aboard.

Knicks' Vincent Poirier: Sent to New York in three-team deal
The Knicks acquired Poirier, Terrance Ferguson and a 2021 second-round pick in a three-team trade completed Thursday, Kyle Neubeck of PhillyVoice.com reports. The Thunder will receive Tony Bradley, Austin Rivers and 2025 and 2026 second-round picks in the deal, while the 76ers will acquire George Hill and Ignas Brazdeikis.
Poirier has been outside of the Philadelphia rotation all season, averaging 3.9 minutes per game across 10 appearances. His situation likely won't improve much, if at all, in New York, where Mitchell Robinson, Nerlens Noel, Taj Gibson and Julius Randle are all expected to slot ahead of him in the pecking order at center. Given the Knicks' ample depth at the position, Poirier could be waived if the organization prefers to use his roster spot to address another area of need.

Knicks' Vincent Poirier: Expected to be waived by Knicks
Poirier is expected to be waived by the Knicks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Poirier was part of a three-team deal between the Knicks, Thunder and 76ers. He was initially sent to New York, but the expectation is that he'll end up a free agent. Poirier had a minimal role with the 76ers this season, as he averaged 0.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 3.9 minutes. Wherever he ends up, there should be no expectation of him becoming fantasy relevant.

The center was able to see the court during junk time for a second time over the past three games. However, he's averaging just 1.5 minutes over his last two outings along with 10 absences across the 76ers' past 12 games.

76ers' Vincent Poirier: Doesn't play against Minnesota

Poirier was available for Friday's game after being listed as probable, but he didn't take the court in the blowout win over the Timberwolves. While it's encouraging to see the 27-year-old suit up once again, he's unlikely to see significant playing time for Philadelphia.

76ers' Vincent Poirier: Probable Friday
Poirier (conditioning) is probable for Friday's game at Minnesota.
The 27-year-old has been sidelined since Jan. 7 due to the league's health and safety protocols, but he's now clear of the protocols and is ramping up his conditioning. Poirier is averaging 4.7 minutes in his three appearances this season, so even if he's available as expected Friday, he's unlikely to see significant playing time.

76ers' Vincent Poirier: Officially out Saturday
Poirier (COVID-19 protocol) will not play in Saturday's game against the Grizzlies, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Poirier hasn't cleared the protocol yet, so it's not a big surprise that he's set for another absence. Even when he does gain clearance to retake the floor, he's not much more than a bench-filler for the Sixers.

76ers' Vincent Poirier: Likely out until at least Saturday
Philadelphia head coach Doc Rivers said Monday that Poirier and the other three players on the roster currently in quarantine due to the NBA's health and safety protocols (Shake Milton, Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle) won't be available any earlier than Saturday's game at Memphis, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. "I don't know exactly," Rivers said, when asked when the four players would be cleared to play. "We're thinking after [Thursday's game versus Miami] is a possibility -- that would be the [second] Miami game....But I don't think we've had clearance on it yet, and so we're just going to have to wait and see."
The four players entered the protocol Saturday, after all were deemed to be close contacts of Seth Curry, who tested positive for COVID-19. Though none of Poirier, Thybulle, Harris and Milton are believed to have tested positive themselves since heading into quarantine, Rivers suggested that the quartet will likely remain away from the team until the weekend to comply with NBA protocols. With that in mind, Poirier -- who sat out losses Saturday to the Nuggets and Monday to the Hawks -- will miss both of the 76ers' upcoming home games Tuesday and Thursday versus the Heat.
