  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Deemed week-to-week

The Grizzlies announced Saturday that Aldama has been diagnosed with a left ankle sprain and is considered week-to-week. Aldama suffered the ankle injury in Thursday's 155-126 win over the Raptors and then sat out Friday's 132-124 victory over the Pelicans. The Grizzlies are likely to keep him out for at least a handful more games, perhaps paving the way for Jake LaRavia and Brandon Clarke to see more backup minutes at power forward behind Jaren Jackson.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Leaves early with ankle injury

Aldama left Thursday's 155-126 win over the Raptors due to a left ankle injury and didn't return. He finished with three points (2-3 FG) and three rebounds over three minutes. Aldama was helped back to the locker room during the first quarter of Thursday's contest, and he was unable to put much weight on his left ankle. The 23-year-old will likely undergo further testing to determine the extent of his injury. Jake LaRavia could benefit from opportunities if Aldama is forced to miss Friday's game against the Pelicans and any additional games that follow.

If the 23-year-old is unable to come back, Jake LaRavia and Luke Kennard will likely see increased roles the rest of the way.

Aldama lost his spot in the starting lineup upon Desmond Bane's return to action, but he continues to make a case for more playing time with excellent second-unit totals. His recent performances warrant fantasy consideration in deeper formats despite his spot in the rotation.
