  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Erupts in loss to Nets

Edey notched 25 points (11-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and four blocks over 29 minutes during Monday's 106-104 loss to the Nets. Edey made his second three-pointer of the campaign and posted his second straight double-double. He was feeling it Monday night and the Grizzlies made a concerted effort to feed him looks, but he also generated his own with five offensive boards. His fantasy arrow is pointed straight up after this breakout performance.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: First career double-double

Edey had 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 22 minutes during Saturday's 124-107 win over the 76ers. Edey recorded the first double-double of his career, while also playing at least 22 minutes for the second straight game. Despite starting in all seven games thus far, it's been a struggle for Edey in terms of adjusting to the NBA. However, he does appear to be slowly figuring things out, a welcome sight for anyone still utilizing him on a nightly basis.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Scores 13 points in loss

Edey totaled 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 18 minutes during Wednesday's 119-106 loss to the Nets. Edey tied his personal-best scoring mark in this game. Even though he's scored in double digits in just two of his five contests so far, the rookie seems to be getting more comfortable with each passing game. Excluding his NBA debut in which he fouled out after playing just 15 minutes, Edey is averaging 9.8 points and 4.3 rebounds across a mere 17.0 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Shakes off questionable tag

Edey (calf) is available for Wednesday's game against the Nets, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. Edey will play through a sore right calf and likely remain in the starting lineup. However, it hasn't been a great start for the rookie. He's averaging only 7.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.3 blocks in 16.0 minutes through his first four regular-season appearances.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Iffy for Wednesday vs. Nets

Edey is questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Nets due to right calf soreness. Edey is dealing with a sore calf and is in jeopardy of missing his first game of the season. The big man has started in all four of his regular-season appearances, and he has averaged 7.8 points and 5.0 rebounds across 16.0 minutes per game. However, the 22-year-old has played only 27 total minutes over the last two games, and the Grizzlies have opted for a deep frontcourt rotation with Santi Aldama, Jay Huff, Jake LaRavia and Brandon Clarke all receiving double-digit playing time off the bench.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Fouls out in regular-season debut

Edey provided five points (2-4 FG, 1-5 FT) and five rebounds across 15 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 126-124 victory over the Jazz. There's no question this is not the way Edey would've thought his NBA debut would end up, as the rookie looked outmatched on defense and was unable to use his size to his advantage. He should remain the starting center for the time being and will be given every opportunity to adjust to the pace of the league, so fantasy managers shouldn't be overly concerned about his forgettable rookie debut.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Nears double-double Monday

Edey finished with 23 points (10-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one steal across 19 minutes in Monday's 120-116 preseason win over the Pacers. The rookie dominated the Pacers in the paint as he scored 23 points while shooting 66.7 percent from the field, tying Desmond Bane's game high in points as well. Edey is set to serve as the Grizzlies' starting center alongside Jaren Jackson in the frontcourt, and Edey has made an impact during the preseason while looking like a potential Rookie of the Year candidate. While preseason competition clearly differs from the regular season, the 22-year-old's play thus far bodes well for his role to begin the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Makes two-way impact Saturday

Edey registered 15 points (5-10 FG, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks across 22 minutes in Saturday's 124-121 preseason win over the Bulls. Edey has shown glimpses of his talent in the preseason, and while a final decision hasn't been made yet, it seems he'll open the 2024-25 campaign as the starting center due to his two-way impact. If Edey starts, he should have plenty of fantasy upside as a young player capable of making his presence felt on both ends of the court.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Expected to start Monday

Edey is projected to be in the starting lineup for Monday's preseason game against the Mavericks, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports. With Jaren Jackson (hamstring) unavailable, the Grizzlies are expected to roll with Edey, Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart and Santi Aldama as their starting five for Monday's preseason opener. Edey tweaked his ankle during the Summer League but has been a full participant during training camp.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Participating in camp

Edey (ankle) has been a full participant in training camp this week, Matt Infield of Actions News 5 reports. Edey tweaked his right ankle during the Summer League which shut him down early, but by all accounts, it was a minor issue. There's been no talk of any limitations at camp, and the expectations around Memphis are very high for the rookie. Edey was spotted hitting some three-pointers with ease and looks ready to compete for the starting center role.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Won't return Thursday

Edey went back to the locker room after tweaking his right ankle during Thursday's exhibition in Las Vegas, and he will not return. Edey landed on another player's foot after attempting to block a shot and rolled his ankle, although he was able to walk off the court under his own power. He may have been able to return had this been a regular-season game, but there's no reason to push it during an exhibition contest. Edey looked solid while on the court, hitting all three of his shots on his way to six points, three rebounds and one block over nine minutes.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Will play Thursday

Edey (ankle) is in the starting lineup for Thursday's Summer League matchup against New Orleans. Edey hasn't played since tweaking his ankle at the Salt Lake Summer League, but he'll be making his Las Vegas debut Thursday. He shouldn't have any minutes restrictions, and the fact that he's suiting up for an exhibition game suggests that his ankle is fine.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Sitting again Monday

Edey (ankle) won't play in Monday's Summer League game against the Mavericks, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports. Edey will miss another contest while tending to an ankle issue, as there's no reason to rush him back into action for Summer League. His next chance to suit up will arrive Wednesday against the Magic.
