Deal or no deal, Baltimore QB Joe Flacco maintains his focus is on football for the upcoming season.
Flacco is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and his agent Joe Linta and the Ravens' brass have been negotiating a deal.
But nothing appears imminent. Asked about it Thursday, Flacco said he's leaving the contract discussions to the other parties while preparing for the upcoming season.
"It's not like I'm up in the offices negotiating my contract," Flacco said. "I really don't have any thought about it. It's up to my agent."
Flacco is set to earn a base salary of $6.76 million this year. The negotiating process could play out like running back Ray Rice's did, which was to the last minute. Rice was franchised in March before signing his long-term deal minutes before the July 16 deadline.
"I'm not worried about it," Flacco said. "It will happen one day, and whenever it happens I will be excited."
Other notes: OT Ramon Harewood rolled his ankle and left practice Thursday. Harewood has battled injuries since 2010, ending both of his seasons on injured reserve.
CB Cary Williams began team drills with the first team, although Jimmy Smith got his fair share of reps.
With DT Haloti Ngata (hamstring) missing practice, Ryan McBean and Bryan Hall rotated in at his DT position. McBean is suspended for the first three games of the season for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs. Hall spent 2011 on the practice squad.
Rookie WR Tommy Streeter struggled with drops Thursday. But coach John Harbaugh expressed confidence in the youngster, saying, "He's got a good vision of what he wants to become as a player."
Flacco's best ball of the day came on a go-route that WR Jacoby Jones hauled in with CB Lardarius Webb in good coverage. Flacco's worst ball came on a late out-route Webb picked off for a touchdown.
