Teams determined to improve on last year's marks meet when the Chicago Bears battle the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football. Despite troubles on offense, Chicago rode its defense to a 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, while Houston was able to stave off a late charge by the Indianapolis Colts to post a 29-27 victory. The Bears (1-0), who were 1-4 against AFC opponents a year ago, were 2-7 on the road in 2023. The Texans (1-0), who went 3-2 against the NFC, won six of nine home games a year ago. Keenan Allen (heel) is inactive for the Bears.

The game will kick off from NRG Stadium in Houston at 8:20 p.m. ET. The Bears had the second-best rushing offense last season at 141.1 yards per game, while the Texans were 22nd at 96.9. Quarterback C.J. Stroud, the team's first-round selection in 2023, started his season with a solid performance against the Colts. He completed 24 of 32 passes (75%) for 234 yards and two touchdowns for a 115.9 rating. He also carried four times for 13 yards. Last year in 15 games, Stroud had a phenomenal season, completing 319 of 499 passes (63.9%) for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was intercepted just five times and had a rating of 100.8. Another weapon on offense for Chicago is veteran wide receiver D.J. Moore.
