Michael Brockers: Wraps up career
Brockers announced Tuesday that he has retired from professional football, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Brockers spent the first nine years of his career with the Rams before being traded to the Lions in 2021. The 33-year-old was then released by Detroit after playing just six games in the 2022 campaign, and he didn't sign with a new team at any point in 2023. The No.14 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Brockers finishes with 451 tackles and 29 sacks across 160 career games.

Michael Brockers: Works out with Tennessee
Brockers (ankle) had a recent tryout with the Titans, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Brockers has been durable for most of his career, but struggled to stay on the field in 2022 with the Lions and missed the team's Week 18 win over the Packers with an ankle injury. After being released by Detroit in February, the veteran defensive lineman is now healthy and attempting to find his way back on an NFL roster.

Michael Brockers: Done in Detroit
The Lions released Brockers on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
As a result of the move, the Lions are slated to save $10 million against their salary cap for the coming season. The 32-year-old saw a massive decline in his productivity in 2022 considering that he registered just four tackles across the six games he suited up for. Brockers is thus set to become a free agent and is poised to play his twelfth NFL season elsewhere.

Lions' Michael Brockers: Slowing down
Brockers (ankle) recorded four tackles and one pass breakup over six games in 2022.
Once a dependable piece up front, the 32-year-old Brockers showed clear signs of decline early on this year, and he was largely a healthy scratch for the majority of the games after Detroit's Week 6 bye, though he was listed as out with an ankle injury for the season's final contest. Considering the Lions can save nearly $14 million against the cap by parting ways with him this offseason, Brockers would need to take a hefty pay cut to return to the Motor City in 2023.
