Jets' Obum Gwacham: Inks deal with Jets
Gwacham signed a contract Wednesday with the Jets, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.
Gwacham takes the roster spot of fellow linebacker Dylan Donahue (elbow), who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Considering Donahue saw double-digit defensive snaps each of the past three weeks, Gwacham could have a small role with the Jets right out of the gate.

Saints' Obum Gwacham: Sees extensive time Sunday
Gwacham (undisclosed) played in 31 of the Saints' defensive snaps in Sunday's preseason win over the Chargers, Larry Holder of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Gwacham missed nearly all of last season with an undisclosed injury but he has since recovered. His play in nearly half of New Orleans' defensive snaps indicates he has a strong chance at a backup or depth role along the defensive line in 2017.

Saints' Obum Gwacham: Lands on IR
Gwacham (undisclosed) was placed on the Saints' injured reserve list on Wednesday, The New Orleans Advocate reports.
It's uncertain how Gwacham was injured, but he was limited to just seven snaps on special teams Monday night without seeing the field once on defense. The Saints signed OL Khalif Barnes to fill his spot on the active 53-man roster.

Saints' Obum Gwacham: Deactivated Week 2
Gwacham (coach's decision) is inactive for the Saints' Week 2 contest against the Giants.
Buried on the depth chart along the defensive line, Gwacham is simply a healthy scratch this week.

Saints' Obum Gwacham: Gwacham could start at defensive end
With Hau'oli Kikaha suffering a potentially season-ending knee injury, Gwacham is a candidate to replace him as a starter at defensive end. Gwacham, who is up to 258 pounds after a 15-pound weight gain this offseason, has worked with the first-team defensive line unit since the start of OTAs in May, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Gwacham is a raw, developmental athlete who was drafted by the Seahawks in the sixth round out of Oregon State last year. He signed with the Saints after being waived by the Seahawks at the end of the 2015 preseason, and appeared in nine games for New Orleans, recording eight tackles, two forced fumbles and two and a half sacks. It's possible that the Saints will sign a veteran free agent to replace Kikaha, but Gwacham is an intriguing young talent who could make some noise in IDP leagues if he is able to secure the starting defensive end job opposite Cameron Jordan.
