Gabe Jackson: Let go by Seattle
The Seahawks released Jackson on Thursday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
A transaction that made sense for the Seahawks, the team decided to part ways with Jackson likely due to a combination of his age, lingering knee concerns and his hefty salary cap number ($11.3 million) for this coming season. The 335-pounder started in 31 games for Seattle across the previous two campaigns, and he'll now look elsewhere to continue his playing career.

Seahawks' Gabe Jackson: Full activity levels Thursday
Jackson (hip/knee) practiced fully Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Jackson suffered a hip injury during the team's Week 5 loss to the Saints, causing him to miss the last two games as a result. However, his ability to practice in full Thursday suggests he'll be ready to reclaim his usual starting spot at right guard Sunday against the Giants. Phil Haynes -- who started the last two weeks in place of Jackson -- will likely revert back to a depth role for Seattle's offensive line.

Seahawks' Gabe Jackson: Left with injury
Jackson has exited Sunday's game with the Saints due to a hip flexor injury, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Jackson's absence will leave a hole at right guard for the Seahawks while he is out of the game. Phil Haynes should handle the position while Jackson is sidelined.
