Texans' Jadeveon Clowney: Likely to be ready for Week 1
Clowney (hip/ankle) is expected to be good to go for Week 1 versus Buffalo, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Clowney suffered a soft-tissue injury to his hip during the preseason meeting with the Raiders. He's also been battling an ankle issue. However, neither of the ailments is expected to keep him off the field for the opener against the Bills. The 33-year-old Clowney isn't as productive as he once was, though he ended the 2025 campaign with the Cowboys by totaling 41 tackles and 8.5 sacks across 13 regular-season games.

Texans' Jadeveon Clowney: DNP on Wednesday
Clowney (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday's practice, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Clowney signed a one-year deal worth up to $8.5 million with the Texans in early August. The 2014 first-round pick for the organization will likely not play in Friday's preseason finale against the Panthers. If the issue is more serious and Clowney must miss Week 1 against the Bills, Solomon Byrd and Sabastian Harsh would be in line to see more rotational snaps at defensive end.

Texans' Jadeveon Clowney: Returning to Houston
The Texans signed Clowney to a one-year deal Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Clowney is set to return to Houston, which selected him first overall in the 2014 Draft. His new deal has a base value of $5.5 million and a maximum value of $8 million. Clowney recorded 8.5 sacks with the Cowboys last season and should serve as the Texans' top rotational pass rusher behind Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter.

Jadeveon Clowney: Visits with Cleveland
The Browns hosted Clowney on a visit Wednesday, Jacob Roach of brownswire.com reports.
After signing a late deal with the Cowboys in 2025, Clowney participated in 13 regular-season games. The defensive end is now looking for a new home and seems to be considering a reunion with the Browns. Clowney played the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the team, racking up 65 tackles (38 solo), including 27.0 sacks, adding five passes defensed and three forced fumbles over 26 regular-season games. A return to the Browns could help the defense attempt to replace reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett's production in the aggregate.
