The Ravens waived Matthews (thigh) on Tuesday as part of an injury settlement.
Matthews reverted to injured reserve Monday after failing to make significant progress from the thigh injury he's been nursing since mid-October. He'll be free to sign with any team with the Ravens forfeiting their rights to the wideout.

Matthews (thigh) reverted to injured reserve Monday, per the league's official transaction log.
Correcting a previous report, Matthews was actually waived/injured by the Ravens on Friday -- as opposed to simply being released -- and now reverts to IR after clearing waivers. Barring an injury settlement, he'll likely stay there for the remainder of the season.

Baltimore's decision to let Matthews go suggests Mike Wallace (concussion) and Jeremy Maclin (shoulder) aren't in any danger of missing Sunday's game against the Titans. The 6-foot-5 wideout caught three of six targets for 25 yards in six games with the Ravens this season, but was on track to miss his second consecutive game with the thigh injury. Matthews had 109 receiving yards in Super Bowl XLIX as a member of the Seahawks, but he's averaged just 8.0 yards per reception in 22 career regular-season contests.
