Cyrus Kouandjio: Waived by Denver
Kouandjio was cut by the Broncos on Tuesday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
The Alabama product had been used as a depth offensive lineman for the Broncos after signing with the team Nov. 20. With injuries to their secondary, Denver elected to cut Kouandjio in favor of free agent cornerback Jamar Taylor.

The 2014 second-round pick by Buffalo failed to meet expectations and has started just seven of 27 career games. Kouandjio already started a game for Denver last season, so the familiarity with the team could be a reason he was brought back. It's unclear what sort of role the Alabama product will have with the team.

The Broncos signed Kouandjio to a contract Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9 News Denver reports.
A second-round pick of the Bills in 2014, Kouandjio failed to meet expectations during his first three seasons in the league, starting just seven of 27 career games before Buffalo cut him in May. The Alabama product was unable to parlay a training-camp stint with the Lions into a roster spot, but he'll get a look from a Broncos squad starved for depth at right tackle with Menelik Watson (foot) moving to season-ending injured reserve and Donald Stephenson (calf) uncertain to play Sunday against the Patriots.

Cyrus Kouandjio: Dropped by Detroit
Kouandjio was waived by the Lions on Monday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Kouandjio joined the Lions in the offseason after spending three seasons with the Bills. He was competing for a role providing depth on the offensive line, but the Lions ultimately decided to let the 24-year-old go. He underwent hip surgery in January, which was apparently still hindering his mobility.

Kouandjio (hip) was removed from the non-football injury list Saturday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
This is a significant development considering that Taylor Decker is already set to miss the start of the season and Greg Robinson is on the NFI. Kouandjio is a hulking tackle at 6-7, 322 and his starting experience should help him make inroads at earning the starting left tackle spot in Decker's absence.

Kouandjio (hip) was placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list Tuesday.
Having just signed with Detroit in June, he was already fighting an uphill battle with the likes of Corey Robinson (foot) and Taylor Decker (shoulder) in front of him on the depth chart. Being healthy during camp would be a big opportunity for Kouandjio to prove his worth and maybe even steal some time in the regular season. His timeline for return is cloudy at this time.

Kouandjio signed a contract with the Lions on Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN.com reports.
Kouandjio, a former second-round pick of the Bills, largely struggled during his first three seasons and was eventually let go by the Bills at the end of May. The Lions, however, just lost fellow tackle Taylor Decker for at least the next four months because of a shoulder injury, so Kouandjio will be brought in for additional help on the line in Detroit. The Lions also recently traded for tackle Greg Robinson, so Kouandjio isn't guaranteed significant snaps or even a spot on the final roster.
