Vikings' Cayleb Jones: Released by Minnesota
Jones was released by the Vikings on Friday.
This is no surprise given his recent legal woes. Jones was arrested Tuesday on probable cause of felony theft and misdemeanor domestic assault. He was already facing a four-game suspension to start the season for a violation of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Vikings' Cayleb Jones: Arrested Tuesday
Jones was arrested Tuesday on probable cause of felony theft and misdemeanor domestic assault, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Jones is already facing a four-game suspension to start the season for a violation of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Now that he's dealing with legal woes as well, it wouldn't be surprising if the Vikings opted to cut ties with the depth wideout. According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com, general manager Rick Spielman acknowledged Wednesday that the Vikings are aware of Jones' arrest and are in the process of gathering more information on the matter before providing further comment on his status with the organization.

Vikings' Cayleb Jones: Having strong preseason
Jones (suspension) had two receptions for 23 yards on three targets in Saturday's preseason loss to Jacksonville. Jones could be a leading candidate to make the roster after a strong training camp, ESPN 1500 am Twin Cities reports.
Jones will miss the first four games of the regular season due to a suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. He could win the third receiver role after the suspension as the job battle looks wide open, but it may take him awhile to work his way into the offense after missing time.

Vikings' Cayleb Jones: Draws four-game suspension
Jones has been suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports.
Jones, who was on the Vikings' practice squad last season, will be permitted to compete in all of the team's offseason and preseason practices, as well as exhibition games. Once eligible to return from his suspension, his roster prospects will hinge on the health of the team's wideout corps at that juncture.

Vikings' Cayleb Jones: Signs reserve/future contract
Jones signed a reserve/future contract with the Vikings on Tuesday, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports.
Jones spent all of the 2017 offseason and preseason with the Vikings before being cut prior to the start of the regular season. He was then signed to the team's practice squad where he remained for the rest of the season. The only wideout not under contract next season for Minnesota is Michael Floyd, which could hamper Jones' chances of making the active roster in 2018.
