Cowboys' Aviante Collins: Suiting up for wild card
The Cowboys elevated Collins from the practice squad to their active roster prior to Monday's wild-card game against the Buccaneers, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports.
Collins will now be available to serve as additional depth on Dallas' offensive line Monday night versus Tampa Bay. He likely won't take the field unless one of Tyron Smith, Tyler Smith or Jason Peters departs the contest prematurely.

Aviante Collins: Restored from COVID-19 list
Collins (illness) was restored to the Cowboys' practice squad from the practice squad COVID-19 list Saturday.
Collins tested positive for the virus Monday, but he has since cleared the NFL's COVID-19 protocols. However, he hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2019 and that trend isn't expected to change in Week 17.

Aviante Collins: Placed on COVID-19 list
Collins (illness) was placed on the Cowboys' practice squad COVID-19 list Monday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports, and he tested positive for the virus, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Collins joined the Cowboys' practice squad on Sept. 6 after a stint with the Steelers. He hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2019 when he was with the Vikings. Collins will work to clear protocols, so he can get back to working his way to an NFL active roster once again.

Collins' spot on the 53-man roster comes following the placement of Brett Jones (knee) on injured reserve. The third-year pro spent the first 10 weeks of the season on Minnesota's practice squad, and he now projects to play a depth role along the offensive line.
