Brian Poole: Works out for New England
Poole worked out for the Patriots on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Poole suffered an undisclosed injury while playing for the Saints during the preseason and was eventually released. However, he now appears healthy and ready to contribute during the 2021 campaign. With Shaun Wade's (concussion) status up in the air for Week 7, the Patriots may add Poole to provide depth to their cornerback room.

Brian Poole: Released off injured reserve
The Saints released Poole (undisclosed) off injured reserve Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Poole landed on injured reserve with the unspecified injury in late August, but he's now been released. The veteran cornerback is now free to sign elsewhere once he can pass a physical examination.

Saints' Brian Poole: Lands on IR
The Saints placed Poole (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Poole was seen limping and visiting the medical tent during Monday's preseason contest against the Jaguars, but no injury was reported. He appeared in nine games last year with the Jets before undergoing a season-ending shoulder surgery. With the Florida product sidelined, KeiVarae Russell and Natrell Jamerson will compete for the backup spot behind Ken Crawley.

Saints' Brian Poole: Links up with Saints
Poole (shoulder) signed a one-year contract with the Saints on Monday, NFL reporter Josina Anderson reports.
Poole only appeared in nine games with the Jets last year before suffering season-ending shoulder surgery, and he also dealt with knee and neck injuries. Now having returned to health, Poole can begin competing for a depth role in New Orleans' cornerback room.

Jets' Brian Poole: Set for surgery
Poole has been ruled out for the rest of the 2020 season and will undergo shoulder surgery, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
Poole was placed on injured reserve Tuesday due to knee and shoulder injuries, but Thursday's news speaks to the severity of the latter issue. Bless Austin (neck) and Bryce Hall are expected to be the team's starting cornerbacks for Sunday's game against the Chargers, but the how the secondary will be configured beyond Sunday remains to be seen.

The Jets placed Poole (knee/shoulder) on injured reserve Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
The Jets haven't revealed the nature of the injuries that Poole picked up in Week 9 against the Patriots, but he'll be required to miss the next three games before returning. Curiously, the Jets also waived Pierre Desir on Tuesday, meaning they'll travel to Los Angeles this week without their top two cornerbacks for a matchup against the Chargers. Bless Austin will function as the No. 1 cornerback moving forward with a bevy of mediocre talent behind him on the depth chart.

Poole has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game against the Patriots due to a knee injury, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
While the severity of Poole's injury is unknown at this time, the Jets will exercise caution here. In his absence, Bryce Hall and Javelin Guidry could be in line for some more snaps.

Jets' Brian Poole: Stands out in Week 6 loss
Poole recorded six tackles (three solo), an interception, two passes defensed and a quarterback hit in Sunday's 24-0 loss to Miami.
The highlight of the nickel corner's stat-stuffing performance was a red-zone interception of Ryan Fitzpatrick in the final minute of the first half, which Poole returned 13 yards to New York's 18-yard line. There are a multitude of issues that the 0-6 Jets need to address on both sides of the ball, but Poole isn't one of them.

Jets' Brian Poole: Posts sack in divisional loss
Poole notched nine tackles (eight solo), one sack and one defended pass during Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills.
Poole finished with just one less tackle than Marcus Maye, who led New York's defense during Sunday's divisional loss. The 27-year-old was one of the only bright spots of the Jets' secondary Week 1, and he looks locked in to once again serve as the team's top slot cornerback against San Francisco on Sept. 20.
